Day 36: Intercom, Evening
The intercom's jingle rang out and the somewhat uninhibited movement that was going on between the main activity rooms halted as the Head Doctor made one of his usual announcements.
"Good evening everyone, and I'm very pleased to see so many of you in such high spirits after meeting with your loved ones! However, like with all good things, it can't last forever, so I ask now for nurses to escort our patients in the waiting rooms and in the main areas back to their rooms, where they will be treated with a special Sunday... steak! That's right: today, we'll be serving juicy, delicious steak with fries and cooked vegetables on the side – simple enough for everyone to like and good enough for everyone to thoroughly enjoy! (Our patients with specialized diets will receive their alternate meals, of course.) Our usual beverages are available, and for dessert, we'll be serving warm slices of apple pie.
"After all, patients, t's always wonderful to see all of you cooperating with the staff even when given so much freedom, so I'd like to personally thank and congratulate all of you for helping us, your family, and more importantly, yourselves. Hopefully, we can help you to a speedy recovery so that you can see your loved ones more often, but first... dinner! I hope to speak with you all again soon."
The intercom clicked off.
[ All room threads go in response to this post; please post your character's room number as the subject line of the initial post. Thank you!
On an added note, just wanted to clarify to players of characters who are canonly vegetarians and the like that you get to decide (within reasonable and realistic limits) what kind of diet your character gets from the staff. :3 ]

Re: M59
Edgeworth chose not to pry into the statement about his roommate's mother, and his tone when replying to the Kira incident indicated that this wasn't an interrogation. He was simply curious as to how far, exactly, the Institute's powers to affect things in this alternate world extended. Apparently, they could extend beyond the realm of simple implausibility and into utter ludicrousness. Mikami was very much even-tempered, from what he had seen so far. He might glare or be frustrated at his opponent, even yell at them, perhaps, but it wasn't likely he would go so far as to lash out at them physically. He wasn't a von Karma, with a whip or a stun gun always at the ready.
"I find that exceptionally hard to believe. As unlikely as both situations are, it seems more likely that someone would be foolish enough to make an attempt on Kira's life than that you would stab someone after losing a case."
At that moment, the intercom crackled to life, and Edgeworth frowned in its direction. Once the announcement was finished, he said, "I hope I'm not prying, but. Do you have plans for this evening? I happen to be attending a meeting of a group of people who are taking a more intellectual approach to investigating this place. It might be of interest to you."
Re: M59
There was then an long beat of silence as Mikami wondered at the other prosecutor's line of questions. "Kira hasn't been one to make... speeches," he offered eventually, and lowered his head slightly to regard Edgeworth seriously. "I doubt it would change in a few months. That's really all there is to it."
"The... "attack" was the point the story became too much," he agreed, acknowledging what might have been a compliment with a small nod as the intercom came to life. Mikami was generally seen as the kind of man who seemed sane enough, even if he was occasionally unsettling to some. Intense, yes. Too serious, yes. But it would have taken a trauma far above his level of tolerance to force him into that kind of behavior.
"I saw the mention of that on the board. I've no plans," he said, and tapped his fingers in thought at Edgeworth's proposal. His room number had been given to Light, but there had been no indications of a meeting between them. He hadn't talked to Crane again since the previous night. An opportunity to gain more information and potential alliances was naturally tempting, as well as anything resembling the chance to get out. So, with this, he set aside the remains of his meal and stood, confirming his intention to tag along.
