Day 21: Lunch
Hikaru and Kaoru had been so caught up in their little game that they initially hadn't heard the intercom go off. The new "ding" system was far less jarring than the old SCREECH, and as such, wasn't as easily heard, even in a place as quiet as the library. All too soon, the nurses came to separate the twins and take them to the next activity--lunch.
It only felt like a few minutes since breakfast, somehow, and yet Hikaru was starved. The lunch selection was ridiculously Americanized food of the "Pan Asian" genre, as bad as when his family had wanted Japanese food in California and had gone to the "nicest" restaurant in the English language guidebook. He cringed visibly when the surly cafeteria worker poured sauce on his rice--which was supposed to be plain--but...food was food, and he wasn't feeling terribly picky right now. At least it smelled all right.
One of the good things about being the first one into the cafeteria was having his pick of the tables. Hikaru chose one of the larger ones, saving seats for Kaoru, Tamaki, and (in a fit of hopefulness) Haruhi.
He hoped they'd come soon. He hated being alone.

Bast tilted his head to the side, nose wrinkling up in thought as he studied Albel openly.
"You don't look so good. Maybe you should eat somemore. It couldn't hurt, and it always makes me feel better. Some chocolate might do you wonders."
At the repeated mention of maggots, Bast turned over a piece of bread on his plate, inspecting it carefully. He didn't seeany maggots squirming on it, and he hadn't tasted any. Maybe this poor man was a little on the delusional side. Bast had met quite a few people like that. The unfortunate fellow just needed some help. Maybe those people who said they were nurses could help him.
"It's nice to meet you, Albel. My name is Rabastan although most call me Bast. Try some milk. I've heard it makes people feel better."

"...Muggles?"
"I don't need some maggot mothering over me, I can take care of myself!" Albel spat. "Who says it has anything to do with food anyway?! You have any idea of what happens here at night?"
Albel raised both of his eyebrows as the fool started to inspect his bread carefully. What the fuck was he doing? Seriously, this guy was odd!
But then again, this was a nuthouse, he shouldn't be expecting anything less. The warrior rolled his eyes and continued to eat his food.
Did someone drop him on the head when he was a baby? He rarely met someone so ignorant.

"There, there now. No need to get so upset. You just eat and maybe you'll feel better later."
Giving Albel a cheerful smile, Bast picked up his tray and headed back towards the food laid out. Seconds were a welcomed treat for him, and he wanted somemore of whatever was up there. Then he could find someone nice to talk to around here.

Given, this person wasn't as annoying as the two other maggots this morning, but Albel wasn't a very social person. People either were or weren't worth his attention.
When the captain finnaly finished his meal, he took the time to look around the cafeteria. There were many patients here, he noticed. Some of them he'd already seen before, but most of them he didn't knew. He also noticed Fayt or Cliff weren't in here just yet. In fact, he hadn't seen them at all today. He briefly wondered if the two maggots managed to get themselves killed, but since when did he care?
His gaze shifted to the kitchen, his destination for tonight. Finding a weapon there shouldn't be too hard.
