Nightshift 34: West Wing, South Hall 1-B

[from here]

A quick look to the left was sent down the hallway in search of any potential threats before Momo headed to the right. So far, so good. Hopefully, she wouldn't run into any complications before she was able to meet back with Signum.

Then, she'd almost feel sad for whatever the knight came across.

She was a little slower than usual, having tried to wait for Bridget, but when it seemed the boy wasn't going to show, she'd grabbed her flashlight and her sharpened staff and walked cautiously out into the hallway.

It wasn't too big a surprise when she saw Star Dragon Sword standing across the hall from her, folding his arms and looking as cross as ever. She looked guiltily at the floor, "Ah, good evening Star Dragon Sword-san."

Bridget clutched his bear closer to him andtook a breath as he approched Kagura's room.

He spotted her and hesitated for a moment when he saw her speaking with someone else. He wondered if she would be up to seeing him....

The Star Dragon Sword gruffed in annoyance when the flesh bag he'd been waiting for finally showed up. If it had taken any longer then he would of had no other choice than to barrage his way through the female halls and search for the useless female's location - fortunately she'd turned up unharmed.

"It's about time you showed," He snapped briskly before tilting his head up to regard the obviously remorseful human. While he'd never admit, he was just glad that the feeble human was unharmed. "But I shall forgive you for this insolence this one."

Casting his glance down the hallway as he sensed movement. Why in the blazes was this woman slowing down? This was hardly a tea party, and even if it was he wouldn't be here putting up with such uselessness. "This is hardly a resting station." The Night Rune barked at the newcomer.

Kagura had expected Star Dragon Sword might be upset, but she still flinched at his harsh words, her own little smile twisting down into a pout. She supposed she could let it go, she was the one who was late after all.

She turned when Star Dragon Sword started talking to someone else and was pleased to see it was actually someone she knew. "Ah! Bridget-kun. It's okay Dragon Sword-san," Kagura assured, "he's one of my friends. Are you coming with us?" she asked hopefully.

Bridget smiled happily and stepped forward, glad that Kagura was happy to see him. He didn't much care what this 'sword' had to say. One that was so harsh to him ... well, he'd heard muo ch worse and had the bruises to prove it.

"I don't want to impose," he said. True. He didn't want to go if he wasn't wanted, but he really wanted to spend the evening with Kagura. He still felt horrible about what had happened the night before.

The Night Rune grunted and held his tongue in check after seeing Kagura flinch at his harsh words. Human's were always so over-emotional that he wondered how they managed to become a power in any world. He kept his sharp gaze locked on the newcomer as he approached, but as the Sword got Kagura's reassurance, he found himself relaxing subtly.

He? Blinking, the Star Dragon Sword barely held back a groan when he realised that this other bag of flesh was in fact male. Regardless of gender; however, it didn't look like they could battle either way. One useless human was bad enough, and now he'd have to take care of two? So long as this 'Bridget' wasn't anything like that oaf Viktor, then all should be fine.

"Very well," THe Star Dragon Sword grunted. Passing a glance between the two human's, the Night Rune snapped. "Are we heading out tonight, or not?"

Since Star Dragon Sword hadn't disapproved, Kagura saw no reason why Bridget oughtn't be allowed to come too. It was one thing to argue with the man herself, but she hoped he didn't plan on picking on Bridget.

"It's ok," she assured the young man before she turned to the older one. "I know, I know, we're going a different way from last night, right? So... which way do we go?"

Last night they'd gone around by the greenhouse and she saw no reason why they couldn't try to get over the fence the same way tonight and just head in a different direction. Anywhere but that spooky dead town!

Bridget tried hard not to glare at the sword... guy... thing. Whatever. Instead, he offered a polite smile. "I'll follow your lead," he said.

And he would, though he would take care to keep Kagura from harm.

Nodding his head sharply, the Star Dragon Sword glanced between the two mortals as he muttered. "Stay vigilant, and stay close behind me." That was as close as he would ever get to showing the mortal race that despite his brash nature, he did actually care.

He didn't say another word, and in the next moment, the Night Rune gestured with his head before heading down the hallway.
