Day 32: Sun Room (4th Shift)

It was rare that Homura's nurse try to persuade him to a scheduled activity, but then, it was rare that Homura didn't go. But the demi-god had plans, and the poor woman had little other choice but to leave in a huff as he once again settled himself near the bulletin board in the Sun Room.

His conversation with Kenren the previous shift had left the demi-god with a lingering sense of anxiety. Perhaps it was something only those from his own world could do, but none the less, he was all the more ready for night to begin now. Goals and memories, the truth of his past and the possibility of the future: all thoughts lingering on the forefront of his mind, more than enough motivation to move forward.

Impatience was something of a rush for an immortal, he'd discovered. Homura liked the feeling, the excitement even before he had arrived in this prison. And now while he waited, he savored it again, a yearning that shone so much brighter than the boredom of Heaven.

[Waiting for History Club Q&A time.]

Haseo didn't particularly like asking questions like this, and the light hesitance before outright asking might've hinted at such. Being ignorant made him think of the days when he was new and would stumble into unsavory situations because he didn't know better. Though he was a different person than back then, less reclusive and wary, it didn't mean he enjoyed humbling himself to any level of nescience. "I was kind of ..wondering what it was used for." It was like The World, wasn't it? He had to figure out how all the other normal players played the game.

This guy was clearly some kind of idiot. Between that and his hair, he kind of reminded Shito of Akatsuki. But he wasn't Akatsuki, and so it probably wasn't safe for Shito to say what he actually thought. Smiling absently, Shito answered the question casually, "The usual, I guess. Setting up meetings, finding people, sharing information."

"So it's this places version of a forum then." In this forum everyone used paper and notes instead of writing their information down in threads. Not exactly a medium of communication that he was used to, considering he'd only be able to check it infrequently. Guess he'd have to make it a habit of, once a day, leaving his room to check his forum-mail instead of e-mail. It would be a giant headache to sort through the whole thing though, especially considering how many people he'd seen go and use it.

Shito didn't quite understand what this boy meant by 'forum' in this case--a forum was a public meeting for discussion, wasn't it? Which sort of applied to a bulletin board, indirectly, but it was a weird thing to say. Shito wondered if it was some sort of computer thing, like a 'chat room'. "It's useful, anyway. Lots of good information."

Haseo had never actively participated in the online forums, save the occasional response of asking for keywords to areas with occurrences that seemed out of the ordinary. That didn't mean he wouldn't glance over the threads that other people posted and replied to. "Guess it couldn't hurt to take a look." The same method of checking and briefing over the notes would probably be as useful here as it was online. It was something, in any case. "Thanks."

Shito shrugged. It hadn't cost him anything but time to help this guy, and it was looking like time was something he was going to have an awful lot of, in this place, at least during the day. Maybe he could even get something in return. "I've read about all kinds of monsters, that come out at night. Have you fought any of them?"

[identity profile] multiweapon.livejournal.com 2008-05-29 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
Right. The monsters thing again. "I've seen one but I haven't fought any since I've been here." He had fought tons of monsters beforehand. If the ones here were more powerful than the normal monsters--most likely some kind of infected monsters--he would just deal with them as he happened upon them. Despite what he was told by everyone else, Haseo still maintained the belief that they wouldn't be much of a problem.
