Nightshift 30: M-C Block Hallway

[[from here]]

It didn't take long to scurry down the short hallway and into the main block one.  His flashlight bounced along as he went, not quite a run, not quite a walk.  He'd feel much better once he was clear of most of the people here.  At least, that's what he told himself.  The truth was, as much as it scared him to face Kurogane or the others, it scared him a lot more to think of facing the things that lurked here in the dark by himself.

Xelloss had to wonder if the Clinic saw many tourists. Really, this little exercise in exploration might not be a bad choice for a nightly direction. Since nothing particularly unusual seemed to be going on tonight (unless one counted the doctor ranting about killing someone) he might get a rough idea of how busy the location usually was.

They might even be drafted to help. He knew human healing techniques sometimes required extra pairs of hands to hold supplies for the actual, trained healers, or to hold flesh together while it was stitched shut. Now, wasn't that a nice way to work up a good reputation, and all it would require would be a willingness to get one's hands a bit bloody! "Do you suppose they'll want volunteers to assist them, considering we aren't actually wounded?"

"It's possible..." Leon knew a couple things about stitching people up, but not a whole lot. That wasn't his field of study. He certainly had steady hands, though. Came from working with devices that required absolute precision. And he was small, so it wasn't like he'd be taking up too much space.

"They may be crowded, though. With as much as people get injured here, just a handful of them knowing about the clinic's existence would be enough to fill up any regular patient room." Those rooms were somewhat cramped as they were, certainly not the best location for healing people. But then, he supposed any other location would be too dangerous.
