Nightshift 30: M-C Block Hallway
[[from here]]
It didn't take long to scurry down the short hallway and into the main block one. His flashlight bounced along as he went, not quite a run, not quite a walk. He'd feel much better once he was clear of most of the people here. At least, that's what he told himself. The truth was, as much as it scared him to face Kurogane or the others, it scared him a lot more to think of facing the things that lurked here in the dark by himself.

The same hallway as well. This place was bound to get boring eventually.
It was a guess that Fai was assigned to be in the room a few hallways down, or that he might still be there. A very good guess, however. Last night, Fai had run for that room without stopping, so it was familiar for him somehow. It would have been easier to find a different room - the first on along the hall - or better yet to have just kept running without finding a room. But because he'd picked that room over all the other, smarter options, Kurogane knew it was likely Fai's designated room.
As for him still being there-- Fai was aware that Kurogane was in this world now. With his reaction to having seen him at first, he had the feeling that Fai wouldn't have left his room out of fear. And not just because of last evening's events. There had been the incident in the Sun Room as well. Knowing Fai, he would have tried his best at staying as far away from Kurogane as was possible, for now.

Going back the way he'd come was an option, but so too was the pathway he'd taken the night before. The way Fai'd given him was shorter considering his destination. That would be the way he'd take. Unless he found it blocked somehow. He had a feeling there might be another monster waiting along the way simply because of that she-beast he'd seen in the Recreational Field. Of course, he'd fight it if he had to, but his own desire for blood wouldn't be determining what he did or didn't face tonight.
