Night 30: Main Hallway, 1-East

[From here]

Homura had to pause for a moment when he came to the main hall, just long enough to grit his teeth against the pain. His eyes were never still, however, his guard never lowered as he lingered. One minute, two, then onward, refusing to delay any longer than absolutely necessary.

He hated being this way.

Marcus noticed that there was already a fight underway in the hall, probably with one of the brainwashed patients. It was difficult to tell in the confusion how it was going but he was quite certain that the people involved weren't the type to kill a brainwashed patient.

He didn't want to get in anymore fights than were necessary, hoping to actually get to the basement. There was also the chance that other patients might think they were brainwashed as well, and they could get attacked in the confusion.

It was strange for such a big fight to have broken out so close to the patient block, though the man in different clothing and the patients gathered around him made it obvious enough that it was a special counseling situation.

Peter had considered how his outfit could lead to him being mistaken as an antagonist (as if he wasn't used to that), but it hadn't caused any problems thus far. Still, it made him eager to get past the fight quickly, so as to not attract any attention to himself.

On the other hand, a good amount of people seemed to be running out in their old clothing, so hopefully it hadn't caused too much confusion. And seeing how he wasn't actively attacking anyone, he didn't think that he would be mistaken too easily.

Unfortunately, Peter didn't miss the figure skulking near the fight. After running into Eddie in the showers earlier in the day, he definitely didn't want to have to deal with him now, while in full costume. "Faster," he urged Statesman, wanting to avoid both the fight and Brock.

Part of Logan just wanted to get involved in that fight, to just start swinging wildly, striking at anyone he could see. He knew this was the beast within him talking, not the man, and he had to keep ahold of himself, lest he regret his actions later, as he often did when he gave in to his berserker nature.

He too didn't miss the sight of Venom loitering in the hallway, and figured he would have also seen them. Well, good. Logan decided he'd highly enjoy it if that guy tried anything funny; as then he'd have himself a semi-legitimate target to vent his rage on. He was a little rusty on whether or not Venom's abilities included enhanced hearing, but he moved closer behind Parker and spoke in a low voice. "Looks like yer frien's got n' idle nigh' goin'."

Brock didn't need enhanced hearing to know where Peter Parker was. He might've missed Logan and the other man with him if they tried to sneak past, but Parker was another case entirely. Limited abilities or not, they could still sense Parker - it was their business to know where their Spider was, after all.

Still, turning around, Brock was brought up short as he registered the fact that Parker was in full Spider-man duds tonight. He stared for a second longer than was probably necessary; the outfit really didn't leave much to the imagination, highlighting Parker's body in all the right places. Probably pretty gay to even be checking out another guy, but at least he had the excuse of yeah-my-Other's-got-a-hardon-for-you and it wasn't just some repressed gayness coming out. How or where Parker even got his Spider-man outfit back was beyond him. It didn't really matter. All he knew was that Parker looked smoking hot in it.

"And it's the three cabelleros, off to ride into the sunset and save the day," Brock said, a sarcastic smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth. "Okay, so I know who you are," Brock leered at Parker. Oh he knew, in more than one way. He lingered on Parker for another moment before shifting his attention to his friends. "And I don't know who you two are," he said, glancing at Logan and his pal.

Technically he had been introduced to Logan, but the fact remained he knew jack about the hairy midget other than he seemed to be all buddy-buddy with Parker for no goddamn good reason, and that they didn't really like that. Getting too close to their Spider was a surefire way to get on their bad side. As for the other patient, they glanced over and, seeing as they couldn't recall recognition from Parker's stolen memories, they could probably safely say they had no idea who the hell he was.

He wasn't a particularly patient person most of the time, but tonight Marcus was on an even shorter fuse. The kid's attitude certainly didn't put him on Statesman's good side.

"I'm Statesman, pleasure to meet you," This must have been why Spiderman had wanted to get through this area quickly.

"Now, we have some monsters to go fight and they won't just beat themselves," Though Marcus had seen Heroes capable of making villains fight one another, they didn't have that luxury right now. Marcus continued to walk towards the sun room, clenching his jaw just slightly in a combination of irritation and pain.

It definitely seemed that Eddie had some sort of way of knowing he was around, since he really shouldn't have noticed them darting past. On the other hand, a red and blue costume did stand out quite a bit, and Peter could tell that Brock was sizing him up. For some reason, it felt similar to how the man had eyed him in the showers. Why did it seem like all of his encounters with Eddie were awkward now?

Statesman didn't seem up for hanging around and chatting, and for once Peter could agree with the man. He shrugged at Eddie as he watched their "leader" head off.

"Sorry, but I don't have time for 'friendly banter' tonight," he said, much more open to making sarcastic jabs now that he was in his full outfit. They actually weren't off to save the day, necessarily, seeing that all they were doing was some exploring that might not actually lead to anything. But it was something.

He wasn't sure if Eddie would actually go so far as to follow after them, especially since he seemed interested in the fight that was going on, but Peter didn't see much of a reason to let him decide. With no further delay, he followed after Statesman with Logan.
