Night 30: Main Hallway, 1-East

[From here]

Homura had to pause for a moment when he came to the main hall, just long enough to grit his teeth against the pain. His eyes were never still, however, his guard never lowered as he lingered. One minute, two, then onward, refusing to delay any longer than absolutely necessary.

He hated being this way.

Nia frowned at her friend's words, having an idea of what they meant even though she wasn't entirely sure if she heard right.

"I apologize, Anise, but I am afraid to say that I do not know what 'brainwash' means." Though now wasn't the most appropriate time to be asking the other girl for a lecture. With Ion nowhere in sight she was starting to grow restless from watching the battle.

But all of that changed when she spotted the aforementioned teen inching her way past the fight, her frown tugging itself into a smile with knowing her friend was safe. Nia gave a small 'Oh!' when Ion nearly ran into them, holding the other steady while she waited for her to catch her breath.

"I do not believe that we can...." She might have not been the brightest person, but from what she'd seen she wouldn't allow herself to risk any more people.

When she saw Ion making his way around the struggle, Anise held her breath for a moment, releasing a silent sigh of relief when he made it to their side of the hall. That was dangerous! But Anise was happy enough to see him safe right now that a lecture could definitely wait.

"No, we can't," she answered, finality in her tone. It was a pretty blunt way of saying it, but they would have to be crazy to even try! Even if she had her artes working at full strength, she still wouldn't want to get in the way of somebody that quick with a sword. And... was Leon doing what it looked like he was doing? A Demon Fang - which was surprising enough on its own - aimed at another patient!?

There was no use trying to figure out what was going on in the mind of that stupid jerk right now. What mattered most was that now two people were attacking patients, and there was no way Anise wanted herself or her companions caught up in that.

Giving Ion and Nia what she hoped was a reassuring look, she said, "Don't worry about it. Let's just do what we know we can. If we want to help people, we should just try and finish our assignment. Okay?" With that, she urged the other two down the nearest hall, away from the fighting.

As for all the questions raised by the fight, she would just have to talk to Guy about it later. No use worrying about it now!
