Nightshift 30: M-A Block Hallway

Renji paused just long enough to open the door into the first M-block, then ran in, leaving it open behind him. He headed toward the last hallway.

He did switch his flashlight on now, though.

...just in case there was another spider. And no Daemon. In which case he would do more than punch the shit out of the man when he got to him.

The rhythm of Aidou's footsteps shifted very slightly and Sasuke started to pause as well, figuring that they'd reached their destination, but instead another set passed them and Aidou returned to normal speed. Odd.

There were a few voices murmuring in this hall, something oddly familiar in the mix but not obvious enough for Sasuke to put his finger on. At any rate, the patient blocks weren't normally the site of attacks, so he focused on Aidou's explanation.

... and, ah, that explained Aidou's general disdain for all non-vampiric beings. Apparently they were a completely different species. "So why are you bound to killing the ex-human ones?"

He had heard Aidou say things like 'affront to all vampires' and the like, but that really wasn't much by way of a solid explanation.
