Day 30: Cafeteria, Dinner

The cafeteria was all but empty when Zelnick got there. He was a little disappointed; he had gotten the impression that patients usually ate dinner in their rooms, so he hadn't arranged to meet anyone, and there really wasn't anyone to sit by and engage in conversation yet.

Quietly, he collected dinner and a big glass of orange juice, and chose a seat near the food-serving counters. Talking for so long had made him thirsty... and, well, fruit juice was a luxury he had missed.

"'Prisoner here too?' Yes, I suppose that is the current status of things." Ginji's reaction was quite amusing. Akabane thoroughly enjoyed toying with the Getbacker, trying to push him over the edge and unleash his full potential. But that didn't seem like it would be possible at the moment, as the boy was wheelchair bound. "Ginji-kun, what exactly have you done to yourself? You are the last person I would expect to see in a wheelchair."

When the newcomer arrived, Akabane turned to face him. "No need for apologies. I am not one to deny a friend of Ginji-kun's a place to eat. And who might you be?" An exterior of charm, coating the murderous tendencies beneath.

Ginji was very, very happy to have Kyon appear, but then he also didn't like the idea of his friend being so close to Akabane.

"Kyon-kun!" Ginji said, obviously jumpy. "This is Akabane-san," he said and his eyes told Kyon to be careful.

He looked back at Akabane and frowned. "It's the monsters here!" he said. "One of them tried to eat me. There's lots and lots of monsters running around here that are really, really strong so you don't have to kill people anymore, right?" As much as Akabane liked to push Ginji's buttons, Ginji also wanted to convince Akabane not to be so vicious. He was also really uncomfortable being so close to Akabane, even if they were in the same boat.

Kyon stopped. Okay so, maybe it was okay for him to sit down. He turned back to Ginji and caught his unusual look. He glanced back at the one sitting across from him and gave him an apologetic expression for his intrusion.

At his question, Kyon answered, "Call me Kyon," Simply.

He didn't say anything else just yet, not wanting to butt in on their conversation. Though, from the way Ginji was acting so skittish, he had a feeling he was talking to the equivalent Asakura on his end (Wait did he say 'kill people'!?). It was strange to see his friend so worked up.

Right around here, the scent of blood from Ginji's injured leg reached Kyon's nose and he about lost it right there from its sheer strength. He kept himself composed, though. Enough to appear as though he was only suffering from a slight headache.
