Day 30: Cafeteria, Dinner

The cafeteria was all but empty when Zelnick got there. He was a little disappointed; he had gotten the impression that patients usually ate dinner in their rooms, so he hadn't arranged to meet anyone, and there really wasn't anyone to sit by and engage in conversation yet.

Quietly, he collected dinner and a big glass of orange juice, and chose a seat near the food-serving counters. Talking for so long had made him thirsty... and, well, fruit juice was a luxury he had missed.

Renji hesitated for a moment. He wanted to ask if she was really okay, if she knew what had happened. But Sora already said that they didn't know who had hurt her. She would have told Sora if she knew anything at all. Part of him wanted to ask her anyway, but it had to be a painful memory, and he also trusted Sora to have asked what needed to be asked.

He smiled. "Yeah, I don't think I've seen you since my captain showed up." He frowned slightly. "He's disappeared now, by the way. But anyway, yeah, I've been okay. Got bitten by a big spider last night, but someone fixed me up. Those things are pretty gross."

Before he said anything more, he noticed one of the young guys that had sat not too far away. From the description, he was pretty certain it was Harry Potter, who he'd been meaning to talk to. And he looked concerned - and also like he needed some friends.

"Hey, let's go talk to him," he said. He grinned at Kairi. "Look like he needs to be bothered by the red-headed league." He wasn't much for cheering people up, but Kairi had just about the best smile in the world. He picked up his tray, grabbed Kairi by the hand - though not hard, and headed over to the young man.
