Day 30: Cafeteria, Dinner
The cafeteria was all but empty when Zelnick got there. He was a little disappointed; he had gotten the impression that patients usually ate dinner in their rooms, so he hadn't arranged to meet anyone, and there really wasn't anyone to sit by and engage in conversation yet.
Quietly, he collected dinner and a big glass of orange juice, and chose a seat near the food-serving counters. Talking for so long had made him thirsty... and, well, fruit juice was a luxury he had missed.

Ginji didn't mind having dinner the in the cafeteria. He liked being around big crowds after all. He thought about trying to stand to walk to the line, but he thought he might as well save that for the night, when there weren't people watching him if he failed.
He piled his meal onto his plate, all too happy with the sight of the food. He really was never going to get used to having so much food every day. Then he sat it in his lap and used the wheelchair, that he was also getting very used to, back to a table to eat.
He politely gave thanks for the meal and then started eating. He had missed breakfast this morning, so the food was even more delicious to him.

Setting his tray down across from Ginji, Akabane fixed the boy with a most disarming smile.
"My, my, Ginji-kun. I must say what an absolute delight it is to see you here."

"A-a-akabane-san!" Ginji finally managed, dropping his fork onto his plate so that some of the sauce splashed up. "I..." That's when Ginji noticed the clothes. The gray clothes and the happy face that looked almost funny on Akabane. "You're a prisoner here too?" he asked, frowning slightly. Whoever had been able to capture Akabane must have been... Ginji didn't even want to think about it, but he knew locking Akabane up was probably not at good thing, at least not in the long run, and innocent people could get hurt if he got too bored.
Ginji couldn't fight him, not in the state he was in, with one of his legs mangled and his powers still completely short circuited from the fight that Raitei had barely survived against that demon or whatever else that thing was. Ginji still couldn't remember clearly and if there was any moment where he felt more weak for being stuck in a wheelchair it was this one, looking at Akabane across the table without even the ability to stand up and face him if he wanted a fight.

Also, Kyon didn't want to degrade himself in a public shower with god knows what else in there.
That aside, Kyon picked up a light tray and looked for a table to sit at. After a few moments, he spotted Ginji. Oh, he was supposed to meet him yesterday. Crap. Kyon now felt horrible about blowing his friend off.
"Ginji!" Walking quickly over to his table he went to sit down, before he noticed someone else beating him to it. Kyon stopped, realizing they knew each other. Oh, well, Kyon could always make it up to him another time right?
"Ah, sorry for interrupting."

When the newcomer arrived, Akabane turned to face him. "No need for apologies. I am not one to deny a friend of Ginji-kun's a place to eat. And who might you be?" An exterior of charm, coating the murderous tendencies beneath.

"Kyon-kun!" Ginji said, obviously jumpy. "This is Akabane-san," he said and his eyes told Kyon to be careful.
He looked back at Akabane and frowned. "It's the monsters here!" he said. "One of them tried to eat me. There's lots and lots of monsters running around here that are really, really strong so you don't have to kill people anymore, right?" As much as Akabane liked to push Ginji's buttons, Ginji also wanted to convince Akabane not to be so vicious. He was also really uncomfortable being so close to Akabane, even if they were in the same boat.

At his question, Kyon answered, "Call me Kyon," Simply.
He didn't say anything else just yet, not wanting to butt in on their conversation. Though, from the way Ginji was acting so skittish, he had a feeling he was talking to the equivalent Asakura on his end (Wait did he say 'kill people'!?). It was strange to see his friend so worked up.
Right around here, the scent of blood from Ginji's injured leg reached Kyon's nose and he about lost it right there from its sheer strength. He kept himself composed, though. Enough to appear as though he was only suffering from a slight headache.
