Day 30: Cafeteria, Breakfast
Hitsugaya woke with a start.
His entire body ached, but the pain was nowhere near as bad as it had been the night before. His injuries had been tended two with clean gauze and bandages, and he found every movement wasn't agony. He wasn't in the best of shape, but thanks to the miracle of landel's strange time distortion, he had mostly recovered from the vile poison without having to waste anyone else's talents.
And in his hand, still...there was the key.
He dressed quickly, sliding the key onto the key ring from his desk drawer and stuck it into his pocket. Whether the key stood to gain them anything or not, it stood as a vital reminder that they could succeed in this place. There was hope, as insignificant as it often seemed. They could beat this place.
That small shred of hope made getting up worth it.
The nurse who escorted him to breakfast was cheerful, and commented idly about how wonderful it was to see young Tommy Winters up and about again after his unfortunate run-in with a bad case of food poisoning. He smirked slightly, knowing that any lies the institute forced into their heads were only that: lies. He wouldn't buy it for a second. And on top of that, the concept of muffins sounded almost appetizing. While he still preferred his authentic Japanese cuisine, the food here was slowly becoming more and more bearable. He would have preferred a warm bowl of sweet nattou over rice over the mufffins, but they would do. The plain yogurt and fruit, on the other hand, was excellent. He piled his plate high with fruit as usual, and got several small bowls of yogurt as well.
Finding the most convenient table to the end of the food line, he took a seat and scanned for the new arrivals. New arrivals meant people who would be lost and confused. Renji did a good job of making a bulliten post last time...he should recommend abarai-fukutaicho do the same again this time.

Gluttony woke feeling fine. Had he slept through the entire night? Probably, but that was ok. He was just really, really hungry.
The food was normal person food as usual, not all that exciting and not something that screamed or had a soul or begged to not be eaten. Boring, untasty, unfilling. He'd still be hungry, but at least he'd get to eat something. He piled the food as high as the nurses would allow.
Without paying attention to where he sat, he plopped down at a secluded table and began stuffing his face rather unceremoniously. He was so very, very hungry.

Oh goody, audience for his lovely eating skills! Audience in the shape of a rather...round looking human. However, it soon became clear that this person only had interest in his own meal.
Scar witnessed in silence as the man began to eat. It somehow reminded him of the way hyenas launched themselves at their meals whenever they saw something that resembled food. The feline did not know much about human table manners, but he somehow doubted this would fit the proper etiquette.
Lovely...he was having breakfast with a pig.

another Eda rather crazed person. Oh goody...But fine, he'll play along.
"...how does your lust look like?"
no subject
Most people hadn't seen his Lust here, and that made him very sad. Everyone should get to know his Lust...unless they were dinner, in which case it didn't matter. It was a good thing Lust was here to help him know who was dinner and who wasn't, otherwise he'd think everyone was dinner, and where would they be then?

"I see." Scar replied dryly. "I am sure she is indeed a wonderful person, though I'm afraid I haven't seen her." If he learned one thing from dealing with hyenas and other ignorant fools, it was how to deal with them. When in doubt, simply say what they wish to hear and play along.

One moment he was observing the peculiar creature, the next the cafeteria suddenly erupted into chaos. The King didn't knew what had started it, but he did know that it was the end of a peaceful breakfast. He almost shook his head at them. Didn't they realize that it wasn't clever to act upon impulse?
He wondered what kind of measures the 'staff' would take against these rebelling patients.

He caught sight of a nurse who was busily focused on the other people in the room. He salivated visibly, then jumped from his chair with surprising alacrity for someone so large and charged the nurse. The nurse turned just in time to see him and fend him off as he bit for her head. As he ducked, his teeth clamped onto her ear and bit through the lobe. She screamed as she held onto her ear. "He bit me!" she said, surprised. Gluttony, for his part, swooned. Real flesh! It was only a little bit of an ear, but he swallowed hungrily.
Three burly orderlies, however, tackled him to the ground. He screamed, thrashing around wildly as he tried to get hold of more flesh, but against three orderlies, there wasn't much he could do. They knew better than to let the fat man's mouth get anywhere near them.

The lion blinked. Did this man bit off an ear? He had no idea some humans did cannibalism. This was certainly something to keep in mind.
The patient was soon surrounded by three burly men who tackled him to the ground, trying to restrain him and avoid the man's mouth. Scar wasn't allowed to watch more of the commotion in front of his nose, as a nurse attempted to pull the former feline away from the scene and escort him back to his room. He allowed her to do so, since there was hardly any point in struggling.
