M-A Block Hallway
[Coming from here.]
Daemon paid little attention to any of the doors he passed, taking no time to watch where he was going or check if there was anyone or anything in his way. His attention was completely focused on that one distant pulse, which was growing ever closer. He could feel her, she wasn't far away. After all this time.
It was all he could do not to just spend his magic and take down the walls that separated him from her in order to be there more quickly.

He could tell by Aidou's general attitude, that he was less than happy about Kyon in many ways. "It's also a crime to kidnap, and probably somewhere a crime to genetically experiment on human beings, but that doesn't seem to stop this place from doing it."
He figured the point to that statement was 'I didn't ask for this.' Or something like that, but he had a feeling what he said didn't matter much to the real vampire.

"What humans do to other humans is their business. You, unfortunately, are mine. So try and show some gratitude for still having your ill-conceived life, because no vampire--weak or strong--would shelter you otherwise. I wouldn't complain too much, anyway. Yours is an incomplete transformation."
The traffic in the cellblock was becoming thicker by the second, and Aidou couldn't help but look down his nose at the rag Abarai Renji dropped some distance away. It was blood, certainly, but nothing remotely human. Hopefully the sword-swinging barbarian had made sure it was dead.
It was still early, but there was no room on tonight's agenda for getting caught up with some ghastly creature.

It didn't smell like the blood he was used to, no it smelled kind of ...bad.
"Right, so, we were going somewhere?" Kyon said looking back at Aidou.

He rubbed his chin gently, having slipped more into thought instead of focussing entirely on his surroundings. Seemed like the M-U hallway would be worth exploring, even if his single bulletin board post had produced few results. Though hearing about a morgue that housed no bodies was a frustrating rumor. Perhaps groundless, perhaps not.
Something would have to yield a clue. He was far too intelligent to have all these loose ends dangling in front of him, and not being able to tie some together...
"You're an incurious little punk, aren't you," Aidou eventually said, almost thoughtfully. "Have you warmed up to blood so quickly?"
no subject
Kyon sort of stared at Aidou for his comment. It seemed to have come up out of no where. He crossed his arms a bit before he tried to give him some kind of an answer.
"I haven't warmed up to anything about my condition, I just didn't like how that smelled back there." He didn't get what he meant if this was about something else. "And I'm not being 'incurious'. I figured what you meant earlier about my 'incomplete transformation'."

Even if Kyon was quiet, the noble wasn't sure he could stand someone who couldn't process few simple jumps in thought. Perhaps it was merely from spending so much time in his presence, but of the few young humans he did know, they were often able to keep up with him--well, sometimes.
Then Kyon opened his mouth again, and Aidou couldn't help but touch his forehead. Not one of these people. He gave one bleak laugh. "Do try not to generalize--let it be expected of humans, but you should know better. If you truly knew anything about anything, you wouldn't have just said that to me."
no subject
"Where are we going, anyway?" He asked, a little off hand. If he was being dragged off to his doom later, he wanted an idea of where it was. He was pretty sure Aidou had plans just by how urgent he was making him leave his room.
no subject
It wasn't simply annoyance. After all, with allowing a newly created vampire to live (which rarely, rarely happened nowadays), it meant having to completely introduce it to a new way of life.
"If you really want to understand... then you'll have to accept vampires don't live by equality. The caste system is static. That's because one's bloodline is everything--vampires who are created are the weakest and the most foul. Like monkeys are to humans, ex-humans are the same to vampires." Aidou glanced at Kyon once more, brows slightly raised as though curious as to how his next words would be taken. "Most importantly, you could say it's because they don't last long. The majority of humans will soon go utterly insane soon after, never able to fully accept their new instincts."
He left the words 'You're a bit different, though' for later.

The last part in Aidou's speech gave Kyon a chill, however. It didn't show much on his face, but his blood ran cold for just a moment. Composing himself he shook his head.
"Guess that kind of sucks then," Was about all he could say. No, he didn't stop and have a seizure, nor did he beg Aidou for some sort of cure like others may have after hearing such news. He kept his face calm, considering his options.
How hilarious, now there was a possibility he would go crazy in this place.

The rest of it, though, that was just sad. And not in a particularly melancholy way.
"Yeah, it'll be a pain if I don't catch you right away," Aidou said, flippant. "Precisely why we'll be checking in regularly. We'll see how long you hold out." Kiryu had managed to repress the shift for over four years, apparently, so it could be done... but Kiryu had also spent his life around vampires. He had an idea of how the real creature thought, how they operated. "But as I said, you're incomplete. Your body didn't even begin to undergo a proper transformation--you don't even have real fangs. You're the weakest member of the E class I've ever seen. Which is why, obviously, you're worth studying."
Maybe he'd revert back, maybe he'd revert to a full-fledged ex-human. Aidou was loathed to admit that he couldn't entirely rely on his own understanding, not even in this instance. Despite a complete and total perversion of the proper ritual between pureblood and human, this one had still been created somehow.

The wasn't completely true, there might have been some small chance there were a few of them wandering his world, but he highly doubted. Not once did Haruhi utter a word of wishing for their existence, so in turn, they had no reason to exist.
Studying, huh? Well, whatever made Aidou happy and not homoicidal was fine with Kyon. However, something had sparked Kyon's interest for a moment. Something Aidou hadn't mentioned before. "'We?'"
no subject
The noble had been more tolerant of 'other world' talk with Kairi, simply because he was willing to amuse a human girl. When it came to Kyon, it wasn't worth the effort.
At the change in the Kyon's demeanour, however, he couldn't help narrowing glacial eyes in suspicion. "What?" What was it about the term 'we' that was so attention-catching?
no subject
Okay, not really, but unlike Aidou, Kyon had seen the transition from one world to a completely new dimension first-hand. Kyon rarely became skeptical after that.
"You said 'we'. So there's another?" He said to clarify.
no subject
At that, the noble turned away, mien far more cold and dangerous than it had been a moment ago. "I was referring to you and myself." He tersely brushed at the fine white material of his left sleeve, as though he could swipe the taint of Landel's from him.
"And as for that girl you were with this afternoon, you'd better make sure she doesn't find out about you. She associates with the wrong people. I don't care if you want to try and learn self-defence, but it bears repeating: stop the rumors before they start. We're just a couple of regular prisoners to the majority of them. Tomorrow night you'll be fed."
no subject
He didn't like the idea of hiding things from Hokuto, but all in all, Aidou's reasonings were sound. Not many people needed to know what he was. The twins had found out on pure accident, and nothing more.
The last part of what he said had him glance up though. What a way to go off the conversation.
"You know where to find food?" Food obviously meaning that red substance the two both had a craving for.
no subject
"And here I thought you knew vampires? Take a hint from contemporary interpretations. A small grain of truth, for once."
