M-A Block Hallway

[Coming from here.]

Daemon paid little attention to any of the doors he passed, taking no time to watch where he was going or check if there was anyone or anything in his way. His attention was completely focused on that one distant pulse, which was growing ever closer. He could feel her, she wasn't far away. After all this time.

It was all he could do not to just spend his magic and take down the walls that separated him from her in order to be there more quickly.

At the first part, Aidou actually gave a smirk. It was hard not to--it just felt good to be reminded of his people's superiority. "No doubt you're wrong about that, my little newborn ex-human." He pointed to his temple, gave it one quick tap. "Even if you'd have the misfortune of meeting one before, you wouldn't remember it now. You must be joking if you think all of humanity really believed in our existence."

The rest of it, though, that was just sad. And not in a particularly melancholy way.

"Yeah, it'll be a pain if I don't catch you right away," Aidou said, flippant. "Precisely why we'll be checking in regularly. We'll see how long you hold out." Kiryu had managed to repress the shift for over four years, apparently, so it could be done... but Kiryu had also spent his life around vampires. He had an idea of how the real creature thought, how they operated. "But as I said, you're incomplete. Your body didn't even begin to undergo a proper transformation--you don't even have real fangs. You're the weakest member of the E class I've ever seen. Which is why, obviously, you're worth studying."

Maybe he'd revert back, maybe he'd revert to a full-fledged ex-human. Aidou was loathed to admit that he couldn't entirely rely on his own understanding, not even in this instance. Despite a complete and total perversion of the proper ritual between pureblood and human, this one had still been created somehow.

Kyon snorted. Not rudely, but amusedly, before he smiled a bit himself. "That's where you could be wrong, Aidou." He sighed a little and folded his hands behind his head thoughtfully. "In my world, its kind of my business to know about what exists in it. If there were vampires, in some shape or form, I would know."

The wasn't completely true, there might have been some small chance there were a few of them wandering his world, but he highly doubted. Not once did Haruhi utter a word of wishing for their existence, so in turn, they had no reason to exist.

Studying, huh? Well, whatever made Aidou happy and not homoicidal was fine with Kyon. However, something had sparked Kyon's interest for a moment. Something Aidou hadn't mentioned before. "'We?'"

Not when the purebloods have the power to crush you like fleas. But he didn't say that. Instead he said, "I sincerely doubt that. You've already proven you have a large capacity for stupidity, and I was the one to find you. Be careful who you mouth off to."

The noble had been more tolerant of 'other world' talk with Kairi, simply because he was willing to amuse a human girl. When it came to Kyon, it wasn't worth the effort.

At the change in the Kyon's demeanour, however, he couldn't help narrowing glacial eyes in suspicion. "What?" What was it about the term 'we' that was so attention-catching?

There was another sigh from Kyon, but it was more of a 'whatever' sigh. Aidou wasn't buying into it. Kyon decided to just blame this on his high-society attitude. If he was told himself of a world without humans, then he could have a heard time believing it. Maybe.

Okay, not really, but unlike Aidou, Kyon had seen the transition from one world to a completely new dimension first-hand. Kyon rarely became skeptical after that.

"You said 'we'. So there's another?" He said to clarify.

Oh, so he'd mistaken Aidou's words to include another vampire.

At that, the noble turned away, mien far more cold and dangerous than it had been a moment ago. "I was referring to you and myself." He tersely brushed at the fine white material of his left sleeve, as though he could swipe the taint of Landel's from him.

"And as for that girl you were with this afternoon, you'd better make sure she doesn't find out about you. She associates with the wrong people. I don't care if you want to try and learn self-defence, but it bears repeating: stop the rumors before they start. We're just a couple of regular prisoners to the majority of them. Tomorrow night you'll be fed."

Kyon fell silent again as Aidou continued to do the thing he seemed to enjoy the best: Talk. Kyon figured that was his best option, to let him go about what he wanted to say, and Kyon could process it in silence.

He didn't like the idea of hiding things from Hokuto, but all in all, Aidou's reasonings were sound. Not many people needed to know what he was. The twins had found out on pure accident, and nothing more.

The last part of what he said had him glance up though. What a way to go off the conversation.

"You know where to find food?" Food obviously meaning that red substance the two both had a craving for.

Aidou's long-legged stride began to increase in pace a little. Impatience and frustration ran thick in his veins. Although it made it easy to shoulder Kyon off, the noble had already made it clear he wasn't letting the flea-bitten mongrel to wander off.

"And here I thought you knew vampires? Take a hint from contemporary interpretations. A small grain of truth, for once."
