Night 29: Main Hallway 2-East

William continued on out of the stairwell before looking around the area that they had passed through several nights before. Nothing had changed, it appeared, though that meant little in this place. William grinned and glanced over his shoulder at Wesker as he began walking.

"I am curious," he started, careful to keep his voice lowered. "Just how long do you think it would take for a man's will to break if an outside influence constantly causes his hopes to rise and fall?"

They took the stairs slowly and carefully, Allen in the lead, on alert for the slightest sound or movement that might be an enemy. Rinali was doing well, he had to give her that. He didn't know if he could be up on his feet again so soon after an incident like that.

"Stay close," he cautioned as they reached the hallway of the second floor. Last time, this was where he'd run into that awful ghost woman. And the second night he was here, that child with the mask had been down one of these halls as well. It was starting to seem like a very bad idea, but the others were counting on him. If he could do this much... it meant their escape would come that much sooner.

Rinali held her flashlight close to her body and nodded to Allen, following his instructions and staying as close as she could to him without actually making movement difficult. "Where are we going?" she asked quietly. For all she knew, this really was a hallucination and a fake Allen was sending her to do something horrible to someone.

She wouldn't be able to live with herself if that were the case.
