It was lucky for both him and Usopp that their rooms were just a block down. Not that he'd seen many monsters or otherwise around the patient blocks themselves, but the further apart they were the more likely there would be something that could stop them on the way. Here they had simply a short run between them. Granted, it would have been even better if they'd been in the same block or even the same hallway, but given the overall situation they could have been far worse off.

He took one more glance around, saw nothing and no one, and continued on his way.

Although, granted, hearing the pounding of feet and the smell of a nervous ex-human trying to flee would have been a passing amusement.

So far, so good. It wasn't much further to the Captain's room, but he was still wary. Just the other night he knew he'd heard that child's voice over the portable radio devices, but nothing yet. He hurried along, fast as he dared without compromising stealth.

Once again, William found himself in a hallway identical to the one he had just left. This one, unfortunately, had more people trafficking through it, but that didn't matter so much. As long as no one delayed him, at least.

It wasn't far to the meeting place and though he was in no hurry, he'd prefer not to linger long enough to attract any unwanted attention from some of the creatures lurking nearby. Even in the highly populated hallways, he'd run into a few things here and there. The faster they could move, it seemed, the less likely they'd be to have a confrontation.

Soubi kept moving, his heart beating faster the closer he got to Ritsuka. His young master had made eye contact with him in the courtyard, blushed, and looked away. Soubi didn't know what that meant, but Ritsuka clearly hadn't missed Soubi a whole lot today. There'd been such a wonderful spark of hope when he'd found the bulletin message too....

It looked like there was another set of rooms down this hallway. She cast a worried look both ways, but no one had stopped yet and she was kind of... intimidated by all the people, so she hadn't tried to stop them either. When she saw some room numbers on one of the doors though, she felt a small wave of relief. On the right track! It was a good thing she was better at directions than Haru, she thought.

When Ren came out of the cell block--having swept his flashlight into the bathroom and down the rows of rooms--he did the same with the hallway outside. Surprisingly, there were almost no signs of the grey-clad prisoners...

... all except one, anyway.

The doll paused, hesitant. Mostly because of the look on her face: worry. Although it was dangerous to travel in a group, especially with people who possibly couldn’t defend themselves, but it was much more dangerous to be travelling alone.

“Hey, excuse me,” he called. “Are you all right?”

Daemon slipped out of the male block of room and rounded the corner, ignoring those nearby as he turned abruptly towards his right, heading for the female wing.

As Sora exited into the hallway, he noticed that there were only two other patients around - a man and a girl. The man was one of the people who lived on his hall, right? He had never spoken to him, but he looked nice enough, especially if he was trying to help that girl.

He needed to get to the Sun Room, though. He thought it was a pretty logical place to meet, since going over to the female block involved backtracking to an extent. He was a little anxious to be so close to that room in particular, though, since some pretty nasty monsters tended to be there. Then again, this wasn't a Special Counseling night, so he didn't need to worry too much.

With a sigh, he clicked on his flashlight and kept moving toward the main hallway.

Again he paused to listen. A couple more people talking, though much more quietly, and he half recognized one of the voices. He shook his head and continued on. He'd said he would be there first thing, after all.

Blood had soaked through his sleeve. Renji grimaced, pausing to simply rip the sleeve off at the seam. He knew how to repair stuff, so he'd be able to fix his uniform back up the next night. For now, it was easier to move without the bloody fabric clinging to him. He rolled the detached sleeve up and stuck it in his belt, then continued on his way.

The hallways seemed to have few people and for the most part it was relatively quiet. A bit too quiet, actually. Tear was getting closer to her destination but shouldn't she warn the two staying to move on? This was not a good place for idle chit-chat. Though it was none of her business and they seemed all right. There were no signs of monsters or anything. Besides it would be best for her to stick to her initial intention and move quickly while doing so. She walked on, flashlight glowing in hand; just a few more hallways to go.

While it was hard to see anything in the darkness, the stray lights in a high-traffic area like this one were just enough to reveal a familiar silhouette further down the hall. Tear! She was moving quickly, so Anise upped her own pace to try and catch up, while still being careful not to plow into or trip over anything.

Lucky her! This meant no more wandering blind in the dark. For now.

"Tear!" she called, "Wait up!" Anise waved with her left hand, with the other hoisting the metal pipe over her shoulder.

This hall appeared to have more than just people in it and Okita paused before deciding it wasn't their fight. They had someplace to go and he had seen the boy talking to Homura earlier, meaning he could probably fend for himself. Keeping the group to the side, he pointed toward the creature and said, "Those things are why we stick together at night. Come on, we're moving fast."

With that, he broke into a slow run, meaning to avoid any fights before the night really began.

Not much to see here, Brock thought, looking around. He still walked with a limp, and his breathing wasn't as easy and he would've liked, but at least he could feel the symbiote, almost hear its voice.

The hallway was eerily empty, except for one girl and her flashlight. Aya paused for a moment to contemplate where to head next. He was rather sure Ken had left his room by now already, or he'd be surprised if not. If someone had been gifted heavily in impatience it was Ken.

Calculating, he turned to follow the familiar path towards the main hallway in the dim glow of the girl's flashlight.

As Kikyo continued further down the hall, his thoughts lingered still on him.

What would they speak of, if Shion had come here, too? In Kikyo's world, the man had died two years ago, but the passage of time here meant nothing. Then why shouldn't he be graced with the presence of the one man he hated as much as he loved?

Their ends had been so different. Shion had died protecting others. Kikyo would have chided him for it, if they ever saw each other in the afterlife.

'That you should go the kamikaze way - how old fashioned.'

He would chuckle softly and Shion might tease that it was Kikyo who died the old fashioned way - a combat of kill or be killed.

If you were here too, I imagine you might find a greater purpose. But I...I find no meaning at all. Just empty halls and empty eyes.

His fingers touched the wall, feeling his way to the ends of the hall. Cold to the touch, as expected.

Sousuke slid along the wall of the hallway, trying not to attract the attention of anything that might want to attack him. He saw two people run from something crawling on the ground, so he took off down the hallway as well. He didn't have time to play with anything at the moment.

Shadow passed into the lower half of the hallway and looked around. A door to his right seemed to lead to another group of rooms. If Shadow guessed right this would be the block of rooms that Valyn was located in. He pushed the door open and walked in, still feeling for any sort of magic.

The hallway wasn't so bad except for being empty. She must have missed the rush. Orihime quickened her pace regardless, moving on further down the hall and into the next.
