Dayshift 20: Dr. Washu's Office [Doctor Office 5]
For Doctor Hakubi Washu, it was like Christmas had just come early, especially delivered by Santa Claus himself. She'd leaped at the chance to use her knowledge for good- well, at least kinda-sorta good?- and more importantly to advance her brilliant new theorem. All she needed were the minds for study, and it just so happened that the Institute had plenty of such minds for the studying, and plenty was being offered for her to do so.
Wasn't capitalism such a wonderful thing?
Thoroughly in her element, Washu had pored through the patient files and gotten everything ready, even managing to add a little 'flair' to her office. Several unidentifiable but quite flashy machines were on her desk, sharing the space with a small bowl of sweets, and the standard-issue padded couch had been 'modified' while she was at it.
She couldn't quite hide her glee as she clapped her hands together and grinned when she heard the intercom. Any moment now, aaaaany moment...

"Yo! Feel free to take a seat if you get tired, that's what the couch is for." A smile at that, as Washu eyed the newcomer with sudden interest. He seemed like a nice young man, why was he sent in here? Only one way to find out, mm? "I'm Hakubi Washu, what's your name?"

Washu was glad that he sat down, though; that made things a bit easier. Him using his correct name was a bit of a shock, after her first patient; made her wonder all over again why he was in there. "Mm, that makes me wonder. What else did you read about this?"
She smiled again, but this time it was a bit more brightly; she wasn't the average therapist, so now she got to correct misconceptions~!

"College, huh? What was that like for you?"

As for that comment, she just waved it aside. "Right now, we're here to talk about whatever you want to talk about. Unless you want me to break out the Astral Defibrillator, but I don't think that's necessary yet."
She shrugged, and continued bravely on. "How did you cope with all that stress? Hey, I went through college too, I know just how bad it can be."

...the problem was that Washu was a bit- well, a lot- of a little kid herself. (Hence the "Li'l Washu" thing.) And her eyes brightened as she abruptly threw her 'real' job aside.
"Really? What kind of fighting games? What system?" Pshaw, wasn't it supposed to be right, that the first step was to establish rapport, or something? Gaming bridged gaps! A marvel of science in every way!

Said all in one breath, without pausing. "...see? It's better for both of us if I actually like what I'm doing."

Washu reached beneath her desk- a bit of sleight-of-hand, as she was actually reaching into the one extra-dimensional storage space she let herself have in this institute- and retrieved what seemed to be an innocuous cube with two headsets resting on it.
The doctor looked like she had just unveiled one of her (many) award-winning thesis. Yes, she had invented a system solely for playing video games. No, she did not find this odd in the least. Genius was meant for all fields, in all areas of scientific endeavor! And recreation was just as important as anything else!
