Dayshift 20: Dr. Washu's Office [Doctor Office 5]

For Doctor Hakubi Washu, it was like Christmas had just come early, especially delivered by Santa Claus himself. She'd leaped at the chance to use her knowledge for good- well, at least kinda-sorta good?- and more importantly to advance her brilliant new theorem. All she needed were the minds for study, and it just so happened that the Institute had plenty of such minds for the studying, and plenty was being offered for her to do so.

Wasn't capitalism such a wonderful thing?

Thoroughly in her element, Washu had pored through the patient files and gotten everything ready, even managing to add a little 'flair' to her office. Several unidentifiable but quite flashy machines were on her desk, sharing the space with a small bowl of sweets, and the standard-issue padded couch had been 'modified' while she was at it.

She couldn't quite hide her glee as she clapped her hands together and grinned when she heard the intercom. Any moment now, aaaaany moment...

Darman had no idea what a boy scout, umbrella, or dry ice depensor was, but he understood what a poncho, shovel and fire-starter was. Darman held out a hand, not to immediately hold it (he wasn't that crazy to hold something he didn't immediately know how to use), but to indicate she should show him how it works.

"It's got so many uses," said Darman. "So how does it work?"

Darman had no idea what the purpose of the umbrella was; it looked pretty flimsy, although the metal spines could probably be useful if the flimsi covering was used. It also didn't look like it should even fit in the hand-held device, but fit it did, which seemed to indicate some kind of technology that wasn't familiar from his flash instruction.

"How does it fit in there?" Darman leaned forward, looking it up and down. "There's nothing dangerous about it, is there?"

Darman was thoroughly startled when the doctor leapt onto the desk - he was trained for a great deal of things from his creation, but somehow the image of a short, pink-haired woman hopping on a desk simply wasn't one of them. He was torn between freezing instinctively or hauling her off as it registered that she now had the high ground, leaving him in a disadvantage from his sitting position.

The clone held out his hands. "I promise!" he motioned for her to get down, having to force his concern. "Lil' Washu, please get down, you're making me nervous you'll fall."

Not that he'd be sorry if she broke her neck, but Darman wouldn't know how to operate the other devices in the room if she didn't tell him.
