Dayshift 20: Dr. Washu's Office [Doctor Office 5]
For Doctor Hakubi Washu, it was like Christmas had just come early, especially delivered by Santa Claus himself. She'd leaped at the chance to use her knowledge for good- well, at least kinda-sorta good?- and more importantly to advance her brilliant new theorem. All she needed were the minds for study, and it just so happened that the Institute had plenty of such minds for the studying, and plenty was being offered for her to do so.
Wasn't capitalism such a wonderful thing?
Thoroughly in her element, Washu had pored through the patient files and gotten everything ready, even managing to add a little 'flair' to her office. Several unidentifiable but quite flashy machines were on her desk, sharing the space with a small bowl of sweets, and the standard-issue padded couch had been 'modified' while she was at it.
She couldn't quite hide her glee as she clapped her hands together and grinned when she heard the intercom. Any moment now, aaaaany moment...

"It's got so many uses," said Darman. "So how does it work?"
no subject
"Who says opening up an umbrella indoors is bad luck, huh? With this switch, you just thumb it to what you need, and the Washu Ever-Prepared Boy Scout Weather Protector does the rest! It was so simple that I'm surprised no one ever invented it before!"
Oh ho ho, she was such a genius~!
no subject
"How does it fit in there?" Darman leaned forward, looking it up and down. "There's nothing dangerous about it, is there?"
no subject
She actually hopped up onto her desk, pointing her finger down at Darman. "You! You must promise never to tell anyone what I'm about to tell you! And my Washu Veritudinal Recorder is on, so I'll know if you break it!" ...granted, said Recorder was in the testing phase, and she wasn't sure if it would even work or not, but why not give it a test?

The clone held out his hands. "I promise!" he motioned for her to get down, having to force his concern. "Lil' Washu, please get down, you're making me nervous you'll fall."
Not that he'd be sorry if she broke her neck, but Darman wouldn't know how to operate the other devices in the room if she didn't tell him.

She nodded definitively, the subject very obviously closed.
"As for how it works? Well, it's quite the ingenious device, if I do say so myself. 'Lil' Washu, it's impossible! There's no way so much stuff can fit into one space!' I hear it all the time, but it only proves the small-mindedness of some people; where normalcy sees problems, genius sees opportunities! So I simply-"
It was about that moment that a nurse peeked in with a cheerful smile, reminding Washu that, oh yeah, she was supposed to be in therapy and Darman was a patient. Well shoot, that was no fun. "Gah, time's up. I'll tell you next time if you remember to ask, okay? Thank you very much," she added with a louder tone, for the nurse's benefit, "I think we made some real progress. We'll have you sane in no time!"
And with that, she turned to sit back in her own desk, and the nurse went to nab Darman. The
Ego-Stroking Sessiontherapy would have to wait until next time.
