Nightshift 29: M31-M40 Hallway

Another unexciting dinner led into to another shot at busting out of the institution as Nightshift rolled around. Of course, Jack had other plans to attend to first. He had been rather interested in crashing paying a visit to M98 after the bulletin promised "cigarettes, booze, and sandwiches". The "manflesh" he could do without, but even if he wasn't welcome (last time he checked, he wasn't a hot lady, though the way things were going, who knew what tomorrow held?), he'd strong arm his way in and take what he wanted!

Sliding from his room into the hall with his maps and flashlight, the Fable set out to find his way to the party and may score some liquor and smokes.

Dinner had been a quick affair, silence stretching in the empty room. It had been a while since Aya had seen Ravi. He some times wondered what had happened to the other redhead, whether he was okay or not.

But in truth, he had heavier things to weight on his mind than to ponder what had happened to his roommate. It wasn't as if they were close like Omi and that Kurama boy seemed to be.

Where was Kurama anyhow? Aya didn't remember seeing him around for quite a few days.

When the doors clicked open and lights went off he realized he had been dreaming about nonsense a bit too long, food still half eaten on his plate. He cursed and pushed the table away with disgust. A quick rummaging around resulted with a flashlight, which he turned on and continued on his quest for whatever equipment he wanted, not that it was much in any case.

The flashlight was too bright, if that was possible. Aya could practically hear the batteries losing energy every second he took to grab new sweater, pull it on and reach under his mattress to grip his brand of improvised weapon before he was ready to head out.

He had never before seen the people on the hallway and he continued on his way without a pause. He didn't expect to find Omi there anymore but still it was worth a try to peek into the boy's room, which was, as expected, empty. Aya sighed softly and let the door close before continuing on his way. Now, what should be his agenda tonight?
