Nightshift 29: M31-M40 Hallway
Another unexciting dinner led into to another shot at busting out of the institution as Nightshift rolled around. Of course, Jack had other plans to attend to first. He had been rather interested in crashing paying a visit to M98 after the bulletin promised "cigarettes, booze, and sandwiches". The "manflesh" he could do without, but even if he wasn't welcome (last time he checked, he wasn't a hot lady, though the way things were going, who knew what tomorrow held?), he'd strong arm his way in and take what he wanted!
Sliding from his room into the hall with his maps and flashlight, the Fable set out to find his way to the party and may score some liquor and smokes.

M37
Sitting on his bed he used that annoying time to mull over the events of the day. He stopped that short after a few seconds, not really wanting too.
Re: M37
He glanced behind him once or twice, noting the loud, clumsy travels of one Allen Walker behind him. Probably the peon was headed to the same area, perhaps even the same room--Aidou, had, as a matter of fact, decided to make Hitsugaya Toshiro's room his second stop of the night. Thievery could be an elegant art, assuming it was done for a good cause.
And most of Aidou's causes were noble to a degree, after all.
There would probably be dawdlers, but so long as it was relatively early, he was confident he could collect his unwanted charge, relieve one of the Arts and Crafts teams of a map undetected, and use the remainder of the night in pursuit of some answers on the second floor.
Passing noiselessly into the first hall of the cell block, he bypassed the others and singled in on M37. Looked like Kyon hadn't tried to run after all. With one hand adjusting his tie, Aidou pulled open the door, not even really bothering to look. "Let's go."
Re: M37
Now that sudden abrupt command made Kyon narrow his eyes. What was that? "I thought you wanted to 'discuss' with me."
He also didn't like what the other was wearing. Where did he get that, anyways? Did he raid an office somewhere? All the while he thought this with 'How the hell am I even getting a clear view of this in a pitch black room?'
Re: M37
It was time to get serious about this sort of garbage, and the flat expression in his eyes was proof enough of his resolve. He could gratefully admit, he looked so much more grave wearing somewhat regal attire--though, in the end, affects like that matter little. There levels of power were far, far different, and it wouldn't ever be in Kyon's interest to test that, Aidou was sure.
Stepping back into the hallway, a clear gesture to follow, the vampire continued: "Perhaps I should rephrase--I meant that you're going to tell me everything. How long you've been here, how long you've been like that, everything. Especially how it happened."
Re: M37
He kept the less than happy look on his face at the others tone.
If course that was what he wanted to discuss, just like the other four people he'd talked to today. Going with him was a tricking decision, though. He didn't know what this guy would do once he was given the informtation, but ultimately he sighed and nodded.
He wanted information as well, he wanted to know why he could feel this guys presence from down the hall. He had some small idea, but, he wanted confirmation.
Re: M37
A normal vampire like Aidou was at ease in his own skin, accepted and appreciated his own birth, so it was no surprise he looked on Kyon with derision.
"If you haven't realized already, your words are about the only mode of self-defence you have." It was a slight barb towards what he'd witness this afternoon. "So start talking--start from the beginning."
Re: M37
"I've only been here for a few days, four at the most." This story was so well rehearsed in his head to the point that he didn't even feel as though he were talking about himself. "Two nights ago a few of the white coats dragged me out of my room after dinner. I woke up strapped down to a lab table."
He focused his eyes forward now, seeing how far he could look down the hall. It was a good distance. "The doctor there injected something into my bloodstream. I'm not a scientist, but its not hard to figure out it was vampire blood."
Re: M37
An injection.
How unbelievably perverted.
"What did the man say? What did you say? Be specific! And for that matter, how many people have you bitten in those two days? Better yet, who have you told?"
The noble was still devoting a lot of his focus into not exploding into a rage, only to turn around and strike the one trotting along behind him. Destroying a clue wouldn't help, yet. Not yet. Later.
Re: M37
Ha, and to think Hisoka had said he would have any contact with possible vampires for a long time. Here was one now! Though, he wasn't so sure this was a good or a bad thing. Knowing Kyon's luck, this wasn't going to be an easy night.
"He told me he found how normal I used to be interesting, and he wanted to see how I would react with not being normal." Bastard doctor with that smug-ass voice. Kyon's fists clenched slightly at his mention. "He recited things about my life that he shouldn't have known, and after it was all said in done. He knocked me out of the labs mocking about how I could attack my friends."
Looks like the doctor had been right. "I've only bitten one and only two know."
Re: M37
It was all Aidou could do--the fanatical need to pursue information was the only way he could try and get his intellectual mind to jump this particular hoop, and at least try and accept what the ex-human was claiming, if only on a hypothetical basis. It shouldn’t have been possible. Not even in a noble’s wildest nightmare. Despite the description of the doctor’s motives sounded all too plausible, it just... hurt.
It hurt his dignity, and disturbed him, and made it hard to reason.
Re: M37
A sigh and Kyon opened his mouth first to speak. "They're not big, if that's what you want to see. The doctor filed my teeth to a point so that they would look like fangs."
He then kept his mouth open for Aidou to inspect himself if he so desired. Sure enough, they were there, small and almost unnoticeable.
Re: M37
Filed. By hand! The fangs, the most basic trait of a vampire, hadn’t formed on their own. That was simply... The young vampire drew the tip of his tongue along the tip of one of his own fangs, lips pressed tight. An injection that stimulated the desire for blood, mimicked certain traits, but not others, and didn’t even account for simple biological changes. Kyon could obviously see in the dark, obviously had the proper reaction to sunlight, but beyond that...
“Where?” he said. “Where was the point of injection?”
Re: M37
"It's the typical place for an injection." Kyon ran his finger over it, feeling the mark it had left.
Re: M37
It just didn’t happen--and to think how incomplete even this ex-human was.
“Normally you’d be dead right now,” Aidou eventually said, voice crisp. “It is my utmost pleasure to destroy creatures like you, just so we’re clear. However, count yourself lucky--you’re going to get to live for a while yet. At least while you‘re still sane.” He glanced over his shoulder, expression strangely even, at utter odds with his whirlwind of thoughts. “But every privilege comes with a price, little ex-human. If you value your life, you’ll be happy to be put on a short leash. Ready to hear the terms? Because I‘m only going to warn you once.”
Re: M37
He didn't like that this guy was dangling his freedom in front of his eyes. Or even that this guy thought he had some kind of say in Kyon's own life. He'd dealt with someone similar before. She had figured Kyon's life a mere variable in a much larger equation, and wondered how factoring it out would affect the world as a whole.
He learned from this experience that usually when someone acted that way, they could back themselves up.
He gave Aidou an expressionless nod, he'd go along with this for now. He didn't have much of a choice.
Re: M37
After the initial flood of words died down, Aidou gaze Kyon a lofty sort of up and down look, the kind only a highborn could possibly give.
“And about the people who already know... I know one is that twin you attacked. No doubt there were witnesses, so either you can’t count, or you’re lying. Who all knows?”
Re: M37
"I'm not lying. The twin I attacked knows what I am, but his brother doesn't. He just thinks I'm nuts." Not like Kaoru had given him a chance to explain. "The other who knows was there when it happened. That's all. I've kept to myself otherwise and not let it spill."
He looked at Aidou finally with a serious, unmoving look. "Before I buy into anything your saying, I want to know who the hell you are."
