Day 29: Courtyard

Though he hadn't been able to stomach much of the cafeteria food, as the day went on, he did feel marginally better.  The fever seemed to have broken and he'd held down what little he'd eaten.  It made him a little anxious, to sit around so much, and even if it was difficult, a walk outside sounded like a nice break from the usual.  He had no interest in the visitors.  Likely as not they were the same as the creature he'd run into a couple nights ago in the form of Aizen Sousuke. 

He folded his thin arms across his chest as he started his walk around the courtyard.  The air was crisp, getting colder by the day it seemed, but it didn't dissuade him from taking a leisurely walk while he gathered his thoughts.

"No one in particular," Lust admitted, shrugging. "I have found myself...unattended today." Which in itself was a rarity. And while she enjoyed her solitude, she also enjoyed attention. Particularly from men.

"Though you have found me, so I suppose that isn't the case anymore. I am pleased to see you still among us. From what I understand, a great many have been lost of late."

"A shame," the blond responded as he fixed Lust with a smirk. "One as charming as yourself? 'Tis hardly in good fortune to suffer the ache of loneliness." Not that Luxord himself could feel lonely and therefore sympathize, but it was not meant to be comforting anyhow. It was conversation, just as with Mr. Harkness, and little else.

"Thirty-six is the count now. Well, in the past two days, I reiterate," he said calmly, the cards making slight clicking sounds as he flipped them in his hands.

"Thirty six in two days?" Lust raised an eyebrow. Good god, that was a high number. It didn't used to be like that. Who would be next, and for what reason?

And when would it be someone she'd feel the loss of?

"Cards do not lie," he said in reflex as he gave an empty glance towards the slips of papers in his hands.

Luxord frowned. This conversation was not as pleasant as he thought it would be, though he said nothing on that matter. He was too tired, as it were.

"I see." Lust only shrugged. It happened, in these situations. Were the nights getting more dangerous, or the prisoners more foolish?

"Perhaps it is time to focus out attention on what can be accomplished within our rooms at night."
