Day 29: Cafeteria, Brunch

Hitsugaya left the chapel no less frustrated than before. The head doctor once again had chosen not to hide his face, yet promised he would be making an appearance at some time in the near future. He didn't like being patient, but there wasn't much choice. Either the head doctor would show his face, or he wouldn't. Renji had already seen him, and knew how to find him. That was enough.

The thought of eating made him slightly nauseous as usual, but he knew he needed to get his strength up. He could either be weak and try to force his way through brunch without eating anything, or he could be smart and actually give himself something to eat. And there was rice. Rice and fruit. He took a heaping pile of rice, and grabbed as much watermelon as he could fit on his plate, then proceeded to an empty table. He scanned the room, watching for Momo. He wasn't exactly looking forward to their conversation, knowing how she'd acted yesterday; however, he knew he had to speak to her, and there was a good chance that she would show more restraint now that the drugs were out of her system.

Thoughtfully he consumed his rice and waited.

[ooc; unknowlingly waiting for William Birkin]

Did they had any meat that wasn't burned?!

Though conversation with Kratos had been informative regarding the purpose of these chapels, the shift change seemed to be coming as some sort of relief. He had been hungry ever since he had awakened this morning.

But now that it actually was time to sooth his appetite, Scar was becoming increasingly more irritated with the meals around here. The assortment of food contained some sort of strings, rabbit food, things he didn't knew altogether and meat that was anything but the raw meals he was used to. He could live with the fact there wasn't any zebra or antelope, but this?!

Eventually, he sat at an empty table while glaring at his hamburger. He poked the offensive piece of food with one of the eating utensils, still not sure whether to eat it or not.

These humans had a talent for complicating simple things such as food. They didn't eat it raw like any normal creature. No, they burned it!

At last, an escape! Not that the previous conversation was dull or mind-numbingly disinteresting, not in the least, but William had to say he couldn't have been more pleased to know it was time to eat. Though this was more so because he could now work on his notes rather than listen to the troubles of a young, teenaged boy. That was Wesker's department.

After grabbing a meager lunch, the scientist allowed himself to be escorted to a table with one other patient who happened to be glaring at his hamburger. Perhaps he was vegetarian.

Scar's feline eyes shifted from his meal to the stranger seating himself across him, briefly studying him before returning his attention back to the problem at hand. Considering these humans burned all the meat, it would seem he had no choice but to eat it. His stomach appeared to agree with that statement.

And he was going to have to eat it with audience. His ability of wielding these eating utensils was part of the reason he had picked a more secluded place for devouring his meal.

William allowed himself a few bites of his meal before he turned his attention to the other man. Needless to say, his... grace was fairly curious. It was almost as if the man was unused to using his arms in the least. The doctor allowed himself a faint smile as he watched for a moment.

"Having difficulties?"

No, Scar just felt like pretending he couldn't use objects these creatures used on a regular basis. He resisted the urge to role his eyes. Humans appeared to be rather fond of stating the obvious.

"Your observational skills are certainly astounding." The lion commented dryly.

William had to fight back a grin. How wonderful, he had been seated next to a man with a sense of humor, dry as it was. The doctor gave the other a pleasant smile, a mischievous glint in his eyes. And here he thought he was going to be bored.

"Oh?" William asked, feigning confusion. "Well, it was either that or you were having a staring match with your food. Has anyone won yet?"
