Nightshift 28: East Wing, South Hall 1-A

[[from here]]

With the thought of food fresh in his mind, Allen found himself hurrying along, his mood just a little bit brighter. It seemed like his stomach was always rumbling in this place.  While the dinner had been sufficient, he was already hungry again after using so much of his strength just to invoke the Innocence back on the bus.

He had to be careful though, his eyes were still adjusting to the darkness.  Usually the dorm rooms and hallways were safe, but then, usually there weren't giant automobiles and trips into town that ended with everyone being attacked by transforming nurses.  He wasn't going to take any chances if he didn't have to.

"K-keep going..." Heiji hissed, "If it gets you too, we're both royally fucked...!"

The detective did as much as he could to help Guy move him, but his legs were refusing to follow his lead. His brain was still on the fritz from the previous... strike? No, nothing had hit him. He was going to feel this in the morning, no doubt.

The Child kept watching them for a moment, and then followed. He didn't try to touch them, but he didn't seem to want to just leave, either.

Guy didn't need to be told twice, or at all, really. While this didn't classify as a life or death situation, Heiji had still been seriously hurt somehow and Guy didn't want to stay anywhere near something that could do that sort of damage.

The child was following them, but Guy had faith that he could move faster than it. Even though he was dragging someone else with him, they weren't all that far from the rooms, which meant it wouldn't be long before they reached safety.

He didn't even have to worry that far, however, since without warning everything went black; morning had come.
