NIGHTSHIFT 27: F-BLOCK HALLWAY

[From here]

Ami stepped out into the wider corridor. Again, silence. It was disconcerting. Glancing around, Ami couldn't see anything threatening. Yet. She forced her fear back, determined not to let its icy claws grip her.

She walked across the hallway and into the women's bathroom.

There were three people he could discern through the dimness in the F-Block hallway, the closer he edged toward it, but only one of the girls appeared to be alone and waiting for someone. Naruto wasn't sure what Usagi's friend looked like, but decided to approach her all the same. Couldn't do any harm, right?

"Hey, by any chance, is your name Ami?" He asked and slowed to a halt.

Momo paused in the darkness, fingertips still following the left wall, and listened. She noted Ami's presence and nodded to her in greeting. She didn't have time to chat with the girl, but it never hurt to be courteous.

She continued along the left wall into the next hall of the female block. They had taken four prisoners for experimentation tonight. The shinigami had faith Renji and Rukia would take care of them but she still felt a little sting from the way Renji had dismissed Signum. She narrowed her eyes a little as she left the hallway. If they didn't want to utilize the knight, Momo was perfectly fine keeping that vast talent for herself.

This was the earliest Rhode had run from her room since first coming here two evenings prior. She found that very strange considering that no outside force had drawn her into leaving this time. Allen Walker was special, she he didn't count amoung those external sources, but there was no twisted pressure emanating through the building, no desire to give the twins what-for after playing tricks on her, no...?

Rhode paused a moment to try and figure out exactly what she thought was missing this night. When she fell upon what could have been the reason, she shook her head out.

No, that couldn't be. It was night, and she was a Noah. She couldn't be missing something that defined her as a Noah. That thought as well ended up shoved out of her mind as she continued.

Flashlight beam bobbing in front of her, Rukia turned into the F-Block hallway, past the bathroom and out the door.

Rangiku moved quickly down the corridor and into the main hallway which linked all of the women's rooms. It was wider than the others and presented a little more danger, but should be safe so early in the night. She'd rather hate getting bogged down so early on. Barely looking at the other occupants of the hallway, she continued along it towards the door at the far end, hoping to get to the men's rooms quickly.

Diva had felt a swell of mutual annoyance and contentment when a younger, softer nurse woman had come along to fetch her from the library, informing the Chiropteran quite politely that she was going to be fed. So she had left, expecting to be fed properly and not lied to by a mortal. Because in a hospital, when she was to eat, a human would be brought.

Not this time. She stared at the little plastic tray with its disgusting human food before kicking it clear across the room, and watching it splat against the wall. This was not how Diva was supposed to be treated now - she was everything to the Chevaliers - everything because of her blood - After a few thunderous moments of clawing, kicking, and beating the locked door, Diva had to give pause before she really had to accept it wasn't going to open under her own force. (She was weak again, but how, she was full! She was eating. She was eating so much good food, how could she be back to that time...)

The room was next to gain her attention, and when nightshift arrived and she finally pushed open the door and wandered into the adjoining hallway, the cell she had come from was a wreck. Diva had ripped up the bed, the uniforms, beaten the furniture, thrown the furniture, and destroyed as much as she wanted in her temper tantrum.

She stepped out, barefoot, completely naked, and with a piece of pillow stuffing in her hair.

[from F31-F40 hallway]

Beatrix moved silently through the darkness, flashlight in hand but not turned on. Her eyes were narrowed in the cold anger she'd come to associate with the loss of her daughter. She was bound and determined to find out where her daughter was, who had taken her and where the hell she was. It would be a series of unfortunate people the Bride would encounter as she had absolutely no qualms of beating information out of people. They tended to talk faster when in blinding pain, anyways.

Fortunately, or unfortunately depending upon perspective, the first person Beatrix encountered after leaving her room was a teenager. Not one to let her guard down around anyone, especially considering at what age O-Ren had become a world class assassin, she couldn't help but blink at the physical state this teenage girl was in. She was naked.

This girl couldn't be remotely as dangerous as O-Ren had been at that age. Beatrix didn't hurt children unless she was paid to do so and as she was no longer an assassin, that wouldn't be an issue.

The tall blonde woman passed the idiotic girl. "Put some damn clothes on before you catch a cold," she said in a harsh tone, "before you draw unwanted male attention." She narrowed her eyes. "believe me, rape isn't fun."

She didn't have time to drag the girl back to where her room was to get her dressed. Between the choice of finding BB and keeping a girl of the age of consent safe from her own stupidity... BB won hands down.

The bride scanned the rest of the area and headed down the next hallway. (http://community.livejournal.com/damned/217123.html)

It seemed like she'd traveled this hallway so much she wouldn't need a flashlight. Jean had to laugh sadly at that; she'd been here enough so things were beginning to seem familiar to her.

Still, there was work to be done, at the activities shed. Why had she thought she'd be going back to the second floor earlier? Even full of sunlight, she didn't feel fully functional.

The meeting place wasn't that far away, so Jean hurried on.

Just a bit further and down around the house where grandmother slept. In her sights, and there would she wait with smiles to greet them and the talk of angels and imps alike. Morning would come too soon; it always did, but there was much to do. River wanted to listen to the Doctor for once. Want and need could sometimes dance together, though unfortunately no always. It might be most logical to simply take Daemon's father on tour before plunging him into the fire.

But, then again, maybe he was used to it.

This place was much bigger then Arietta had imagined. She had seen a little bit during the day, but she had been too busy arguing with her nurse to take in much of her surroundings. Now, she was at a loss as to where to go.

It was also very dark in spots, except where others had their flashlights. Arietta didn't have one of those. That was alright, she didn't need one. There was enough light from others to see their shapes, and most people weren't exactly quiet. Hunting at night with Mommy did come in handy.

"You should see if the greenhouse has what you need the next time we're taken there," Rein replied softly as they walked. She was willing to spare a trip for ingredients for Raine's gels not knowing whether they'd work, but she'd at least like to know it'd allow them to run the experiment before she took the risk of a nightshift expedition.

Riza slipped out of the room barely a moment after the doors had unlocked. She was used to the tension she felt in her gut, and not only from this place, and so while she was alert, heart beating evenly but swiftly, her recent dinner was not making her ill. She had been tired from lack of sleep the previous night, and she needed the food for energy, even if it probably did slow her down.

She held her flashlight in one hand, the radio in the other, just as she said she would. She was on her way to find Harry and Fai, neither of whose appearance she knew. It was unfortunate, but the nurses did not seem to appreciate patients taking up post next to the board, and there had not been sufficient time to work out all the details. The plan--even simply meeting up--was far from foolproof.

But she had to do her best. She knew nothing of the other two, and either of them might have been a better leader, but she felt personally responsible for being successful tonight. The colonel, after all, had given them this task, and she would avoid an empty-handed morning at all costs--within reason. Their safety, after all, was paramount.

Here, the female bathrooms. She passed them, heading for the male counterpart.

If he were to find an area sufficiently wide-open, then perhaps a great, arcing swing could be effective. No, not effective... devastating. Most of the weight of the shovel seemed to be in the blade, which made up a very small portion of the whole; therefore, he could exploit the laws of physics. Centripetal force would be his true blade.

The mild relief she had felt after leaving her room faded with every step she took. Hanyuu hadn't seen much of this place during the day, and everything seemed more... frightening when the only light one had was the small beam from a flashlight.

She was highly tempted to scurry back to her room again, but there were a few people lingering in this hallway, so... it couldn't be that bad. Right?

The quietness was scary. Really different, compared to the noise of the cateteria during the day. Not that those two should sound simlar in any way

Mion thought, with a little bit of sick irony, she could pretend she was Shion, being brought down to the basement of the Sonozaki Estate, scared and confused, realizing that people were going to die if... ... Actually, maybe she shoudln't depress herself and think about that. Realizing that those thoughts had at least distracted her enough to get her to where she wanted to go, Mion turned down the hallway where Rena had said her room was.

Good thing Rena was paying mind to anything but the other patients; she would have encountered quite a sight, otherwise. Such a reveal would have made the previous talk of the punishment game more...awkward.

Blissfully unaware of the naked girl, Rena ensured Mion was nearby and continued to the exit.

[identity profile] inb4crazy.livejournal.com 2007-10-08 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Following Rena's lead, Mion made sure to keep an eye out for anything suspicious, but like her friend, didn't notice what would have made for a most interesting discussion topic. Instead, she made sure her hand was firmly wrapped around the handle of her flashlight and continued on.

Max slipped out into the hallway at the end of their hall, pausing for a moment at the sound of a familiar voice, and glancing down the corridor to spot Ale... Dean and his brother. And a naked girl. Spluttering to hide a laugh, she looked quickly away.

Well. At least she knew the pair of them were still alright, then. And again, the eerie resemblance was way too much like home. She never thought she'd actually find herself missing Alec, but seeing a stranger with his face and voice and mannerism was proving her wrong.

Glancing over her shoulder, she paused, making sure Nadie was keeping close. "Once we get out of these halls, things start wandering. Keep an eye behind us as we go? I'll try to find the safest route to the kitchen, but we're going to have to pass through the sunroom to get there, and I've yet to find a night where there's not something menacing lurking in there."

A naked woman out in the hall was... unexpected. Maybe that one was actually crazy. Nudity aside, the bounty watched as other people came and went. Where they all in the same situation as her? Taken from their "worlds" and forced to stay here? Geez.

"Will do!" Nadie said as she followed Max down the hall, keeping an eye out for anything... out of the ordinary. However, having spent most of her time in her room, the bounty hunter still didn't know the layout of the rest of the building.

"What's the Sun Room like?"

Judging by the fact there were a lot of girls passing by now, Luke grinned. Not because he found girls, obviously, but because he did guess correctly. Hah! Like he needed some map... Alright, he did, but at least he knew he probably wasn't holding anyone up, since he hadn't seen Guy or the others along the way. That or they somehow managed to get ahead of him... somehow.

Well, this wasn't a race, but Luke somehow still hoped he was going to be one of the first there. That was his mindset, at least, until he scanned the hallways and saw a few more people gathered in the hall.

His eyes adjusted as his flashlight beam skipped over them, and the light revealed that the one girl he was looking at was...

Blushing horribly, Luke ducked into a hallway. Any hallway. He didn't even care if it was the right one. What the hell was that all about?!

"Noble?" snorted Javert as he turned another corner. "Only if you consider a certain reluctance to see other patients killed 'noble' - "

He had never been in the F-block before; he'd expected it to look virtually the same as the M-block. What he hadn't been expecting was the naked young woman strolling around without a care in the world.

Turning his gaze firmly to the ceiling, he walked faster. Next time, Nadine was meeting them outside the F-block.

He passed through the connecting hallway as fast as he dared; no doubt an open and easily accessible corridor like that was a fair hunting ground for... whatever else was roaming around at night. It was just weird thinking about it. Because normally that sort of stuff was due to their own imaginations - if it suited the punishment - and it was with a kind of perverted curiosity that he wondered what other kind of creatures had been conjured up.

Not that it made the gravity of the situation any less.

Or the sight of a naked girl any less bizarre, and quite frankly, alarming.

The doll turned the beam of his flashlight area away from that area, just deciding to go about his own business. There were others around. No reason for him to get involved, right? Right.
