Day 27: Library
Libraries, he'd found, were rarely as dull as people made them out to be. Though he felt no magic in these tomes, they were still full of useful information. Maybe some of them could tell him a little bit more about this world he'd landed himself in.
For that matter, why hadn't he run into any of the others yet? They'd all been fairly close together when they'd left Rekord, but he hadn't seen a trace of any of them. He was able to communicate easily with the people here though, which led him to believe Mokona was within a mile or so. Unless the ones running this little game had some other way to let all these other-worldly people communicate amongst themselves. In which case, the others could be very far away indeed.
The library had that wonderful smell of old books, and Fai traced his fingers along the shelves, skimming titles and pulling books that struck his fancy. Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz, The War of the Worlds, and with a smile, he found Bram Stoker's Dracula as well. Raven had been telling the truth then, in spite of his own lies. Ought to be a good start. He sat leisurely at one of the tables and began flipping through his selections.

He inclined his head slightly, unsure of how to really give a polite greeting when there was no rank structure. "Sergeant TK-622. What do you want to discus?"

"I think that you might be in danger. There's a good chance RC didn't just go missing like people here do sometimes - I think he might have been killed." She bit her lip, but kept going. "There's a patient who gets some sick pleasure out of maiming the others. He always brags about it on the bulletin afterwards."
She took a breath before she went on. "I don't know if RC got killed because he was just in the wrong place or fought with this guy, but I think you should be careful in case he catches sight of you and wants to...finish the job."

His face went from the slightly perplexed look he usually had when dealing with something new involving civilians to a completely stone-cold serious stare. "Do you know what he looks like?" He wouldn't know why someone would be after clones here. Maybe he was a rebel. Maybe he was just a complete psychopath.
...Probably both.

Faust couldn't be the only one here who thought ... badly from time to time.

And there was his orders from the Captain... "Do you have others to team up with for the night, or do you need a group?"
no subject
He had a hard time getting along sometimes... Of course, he had offered medical aid to TK-622 and his group. Did that count? Faust wasn't sure.
He paid attention though, to whatever this young woman's answer would be.

"The person I usually travel with has plans...so I'm all alone tonight."

Though, aside from a few small things, Faust had yet to actually see any major dangers...

She counted herself lucky she'd managed to avoid some of the worse things in Landel's, but Claire really wasn't keen on pushing her luck.
