Hallway Outside Sun Room
[[from here]]
The feeling was strong. There was something out there. And as he neared the Sun Room, it was even stronger. It felt like an Akuma, but he couldn't be sure, not in this place. As much as he didn't want to wait around here, he had to meet Emily. He couldn't help thinking that they should have picked a safer place. He'd never been very good at planning things though. He just had to take things as they came, one at a time.
He leaned against the wall with a sigh and settled in to wait, moving his flashlight up and down the hall just to be sure nothing was coming after him.

And in a weird way it was comfortable and familiar. Looking down a hill to see an entire ship's worth of pirates heading up to destroy his small island-world. Swaying slowly back up to rejoin the fight with his body half-broken and his brain boiling because dammit, she had insulted Luffy's dream. Enel looking bored as usual, just pointing at Usopp, and then chasing after Enel as soon as he and Sanji had woken up again. Usopp glanced down and saw that his legs had stopped shaking, and for a moment felt heartened, before he realized the slight blurriness in his vision was because the shaking had transferred to his upper body instead somehow.
"The... there's a way around. We'd have to climb over some walls, but I think we could make it." Usopp answered slowly, his uneven voice betraying his fear. "Luffy... can't you feel that? Whatever's making all this heavy aura, and whatever probably hurt all those people, is in that room! Or maybe the room behind it, and he's even stronger than this..." There was never a situation so scary that it could not become scarier. Death-slugs on the ceiling.

If he had been with Naruto, would the boy have run straight in regardless? And would Sai himself, unweakened by this place, be a match for whatever was beyond the door? The feeling this aura gave, especially now that they were this close, lead him to believe that even then it might be too much.
They needed and easier night tonight. They couldn't spend every nightshift like the one before.

He was about to tell his companions this when he was suddenly distracted. Luffy thought he heard a familiar voice, and, by the faint light cast from other people's flashlights, he was able to make out a figure he knew fairly well. The pirate's eyebrows shot up to his bangs, and, for a moment, he actually looked concerned.
"Brock!"
And without another word, he dashed towards a pair of men who were fairly close by.
