Day 26: Intercom, Evening
The intercom clicked on with its usual jingle, the Head Doctor clearing his throat before he made his last shift-changing announcement of the day.
"Well, now that everyone is clean and having fun, I suppose it's time for everyone to be escorted back to their rooms for dinner! Yes, yes, I know the game room can be entertaining and doctor sessions can be fulfilling, but we only have so much time in the day, don't we?
"Ah, and speaking of dinner, tonight, we'll be having an old favorite--seasoned steak, a baked potato, and peas! Yum, yum. You also get a choice of vegetable soup or caesar salad--just tell your nurse which you'd prefer--and may also choose from our usual variety of drinks."
He made his usual pause, perhaps contemplating what the night would have in store once the sun fully set. Now, however, wasn't the time to reveal such musings, and so he ended on his usual cheery note:
"That's about all for now! I hope you all enjoy your suppers."
And again the intercom turned off.

Re: M12
"Anyway, pot lids were the closest things I could think of when it came to their shape. The weapons I fight with are circular, and because of that they're really versatile to work with; they're meant to be thrown, used as shields, or I can keep a hold of them and attack that way." The Nobody was busily drawing up said weapons, taking the time to shade it where ever necessary. He continued this for a minute more before he was satisfied enough, lifting his journal at an angle where Ashton could see the drawing.
"A lot of the worlds I’ve been to called them chakrams." Axel grinned proudly. "I could even set them on fire."
Re: M12
Like a true dual-weapons enthusiast, his eyes widened and might even have begun to sparkle. "That's.. that's so cool." He'd never seen anything like them before! They looked so sharp, like they could be used any number of ways. Chakrams weren't very traditional-looking to him, but they certainly looked like they were effective. So while if he were given a choice he'd stay with his own weapon, these flaming slicing rings of death definitely looked super-cool.
"Hmm. Is your fire hot enough here to temper metal?"
Looks like Ashton had an idea.
Re: M12
"They're my pride and joy, I've had them for as long as I could remember and they never let me down." He wished he was able to keep at least one of them, but he had to make do with what was available like the rest of them. Though he was still caught up in the moment when Ashton asked a rather random question on the whole.
"Puh-leez~ Tempering metal's child's play." Axel began with his infamous grin, logic only sinking in moments after when he ran those words through his head a second time. He blinked once, setting his journal on his lap before crossing his arms, deep in thought.
"But I never tried it here before..." By then his grin had sunk into a deep frown, feeling as bummed as a Nobody could get about the whole situation. There was no doubt that his powers had weakened considerably, and a week ago he could barely even hold a flame for longer than a minute.
"What's on your mind?"
Re: M12
He smiled and walked up to his friend with the swords, hoping to turn his frown upside down - after all, it was Axel who had said that he leeched emotions off of others. Now he was more hopeful than anything. "Um.. I've done a bit of blacksmithing work in the past; forged my own weapons and stuff. Uh, in theory.. with hot enough fire and the right skills, I should be able to make a harder edge on my swords. And there's a water bath over there where we brush our teeth, so that shouldn't be a problem.."
He ran his callused thumb along the side of the blade, close to the edge. It had been made well, but certainly could be sharper and better-tempered. He'd take what he could get, but..
More intently, he stared at Axel. "What I'm saying is that if you find your fire hot enough, and I'm able to work fast enough, we could make you one of those super-cool weapons."
Really? He just wanted to have a chance to make a chakram.
Re: M12
In theory, the plan was almost welcoming. If he were able to, that would make his skills a commodity and he could finally gain something back from everyone here if he executed it well enough. However, there was the small problem of whether or not he could actually do it here. Sadly enough, the question wouldn't have even been asked if he were back at The World that Never Was; he'd always done bigger and better things. But now it was time to shift back to reality.
"Before we get too excited," Axel finally started. "Do you have any metal left that you didn't give Roy to make your swords?"
Re: M12
"You're going to the kitchen tonight, though, right? I think you should bring back a metal ladle or something - and something heavy, if you can, to pound it out with." It would be hard work, especially without the proper tools, but if they could bend metal the way they wanted, sharp things could easily be attached. The resulting formation probably wouldn't quite be the awesome chakram Axel had drawn, but it would work in a pinch.
That was when the intercom began its speech for tonight. Ashton began his stretches - who knew how long it would take before his three exploration buddies showed up.
"I guess you're leaving? I'll see you later, then.."
