DAY 26: Men's Showers (Second Shift)
Gluttony didn't want to leave his Lust, not after he'd just found her! But the mean tasty nurses said he had to. "You can't join her in the women's showers" was a bad excuse. He didn't like the mean tasty nurses. Maybe Lust would let him eat them later. Still, he knew he would see his Lust again, and that was good. He liked Lust. She was good and beautiful and smart and kind. Why did they have to take him away from his Lust?
Still, he would see her again. And she would tell him it was okay to eat the tasty nurses, and that would be good. His new friend liked eating people, too. That made him happy to find a friend who shared a love for eating people. Today was a very good day.
As he entered the showers, he stood under a shower head and opened his mouth wide to drink up the water. It wasn't as good as eating people, or eating waffles that didn't scream when he bit into them so weren't nearly as good as eating people, but it was still swallowing something, and that made him feel better.

He wondered if perhaps his temporary neighbor knew the answer. He did not look at the dark haired man when he spoke.
"Forgive my rudeness," he said, voice tired and soft. "But do you know where the mourge in this place might be?"
no subject
Years' worth of ingrained masks forced his tone into a semblance of polite conversation. "No, I'm afraid not. I would assume it to be somewhere not easily accessible to the average prisoner here."
He stopped himself from asking why the other might wish to know. That would be inviting conversation, and he didn't want that. However curious the request for information might have been.
no subject
"Of course it would be. So was the pharmacy. Damned vermin. Perhaps she is in the same area then? Medical facilities on the second floor?" He shook his head and trailed off, reaching up to press a hand to his discolored and scared chest. Eliza... He would find her; she'd sworn she would not leave him again and he knew that she would not. That she wanted to stay by his side for the rest of time.
They had to be keeping her locked away somewhere and the best place to look would be the morgue.
no subject
"If you're looking for something, it's unlikely they'll have left it sitting out. As far as I've been able to tell, they've separated us quite well from anything we might find familiar." Except those things they could use to make their lives here worse. Those could still be found. "And I believe the medical wing is here on the first floor, from what I've heard."
no subject
"I was speaking of the facilites that we would not be allowed to go to under any circumstances, such as the Pharmacy and the Morgue." His frown deepened. "I simply thought that perhaps down was the better choice for storing the dead. All previous hospitals I've been involved with did the same. But here... things are certainly different." By the end of his sentence, it was again as if Faust were speaking to himself.
no subject
Which made him wonder again why he had ever bothered to reply to the message on the bulletin board, but he chalked it up to weakness. His healing was a gift from an otherwise destructive curse, and so it was a duty to use it for others' gain. A duty which did not apply to less concrete things like information.
If the blond was going to talk to himself, Hakkai was more than happy to let him.
no subject
"Most likely place she'll be is there.... should be below, but what if it's not? ... Can't waste time." What if his beloved angel was frightened without him by her side?
"Eliza..."

no subject
This man couldn't understand. He didn't know the pain of losing your love and then having her back, only to have this... HELL rip her from you once more.
no subject
"Ah. Of course. I didn't mean to question your devotion." His smile was as calm and self-effacing as it ever was, almost mocking in it's lack of outward emotion. If this one couldn't see that anything he cared for could and would be twisted... Well, either he would learn, or he would be luckier than Hakkai, which, frankly, wasn't all that hard.
no subject
Instead, he spun on the ball of his foot and lashed out with his fist with the intention of killing this man with his bare hands.
no subject
He had never been in one in a shower.
He moved instinctively to block the punch, not entirely sure what had caused the violent reaction, but knowing better than to think on it now. An unknown opponent in an enclosed area with bad footing when he was at much less than full power. He felt his wound start to open again as he moved into a more defensive stance.
Make that 'an unknown opponent in an enclosed area with bad footing at less than full power and wounded.' Great.
no subject
With his power.
Now, it was him against this ... bastard. He lashed out again.
no subject
For now, he would continue to focus on blocking and deflecting the attacks, but that wouldn't work forever.
no subject
He slid on the wet tile, but it barely registered to him except as another obsticle to his prey.
He pressed his attacks harder.
no subject
However, it seemed that it was one patient in particular who was causing the problems. The other patient seemed to be doing his best to dodge and evade while the blond kept at it.
While it was a little awkward, the nurse was trained for this sort of thing. She drew up behind Jacob, ignoring the fact that the spray of the shower was getting her all wet, and then grabbed for his arms. "Stop this at once!"
no subject
Just another wonderful day at Landel's.
He kept his distance, but didn't relax his wary stance. Since when did fights actually end when they should?
no subject
His knuckles and hands were bloody, though the shower was washing them clean almost as soon at they were stained.
no subject
"Jacob, please! Snap out of it, before you hurt even more people!" She was going to have to resort to calling in an orderly if he continued to try and fight her off, as she could only hold him back for so long...
no subject
Why did his luck never run like that?
no subject
He didn't care WHO he hurt to get to the dark haired man before him.
no subject
An orderly was heading over - she hadn't even had to call for him. Apparently, he'd been keeping an eye on the struggle, which made sense; fights in the shower were a bit rarer than fights in the cafeteria.
"Sedate him?" he asked her as he walked up. Even though she felt bad about putting patients through that sort of thing, it seemed necessary at this point. Jacob had to learn. She nodded to him, and he started for Faust.
no subject
Then again, who knew whether he was planning on getting away with it?
In either case, it left the other man unrestrained. Yet one more instance of Hakkai's stellar luck. He braced himself, mentally laughing at himself that for once he was actually cheering for the staff.
no subject
He had to get in as many shots as he could before he was taken down.
no subject
It wasn't hard to just take a good hold on the patient's arm and then inject him, either. It wouldn't be long before Jacob started making such a scene, and the rest of the patients would be left to shower in peace.
