DAY 26: Men's Showers (Second Shift)

Gluttony didn't want to leave his Lust, not after he'd just found her!  But the mean tasty nurses said he had to.  "You can't join her in the women's showers" was a bad excuse.  He didn't like the mean tasty nurses.  Maybe Lust would let him eat them later.  Still, he knew he would see his Lust again, and that was good.  He liked Lust.  She was good and beautiful and smart and kind.  Why did they have to take him away from his Lust?

Still, he would see her again.  And she would tell him it was okay to eat the tasty nurses, and that would be good.  His new friend liked eating people, too.  That made him happy to find a friend who shared a love for eating people.  Today was a very good day.

As he entered the showers, he stood under a shower head and opened his mouth wide to drink up the water.  It wasn't as good as eating people, or eating waffles that didn't scream when he bit into them so weren't nearly as good as eating people, but it was still swallowing something, and that made him feel better.

He had a vague feeling that his leaving right now probably wouldn't solve much of anything. He was getting rather tired of this whole ordeal, though. He could only hope it wouldn't carry over outside of this one fight.

Why did his luck never run like that?

Faust didn't like being held back. At all. Not when his enemy was right. There. Without looking, he wrenched his elbow backwards towards the woman's face.

He didn't care WHO he hurt to get to the dark haired man before him.

That wasn't something she was prepared for. Granted, she knew that patients would fight back, but it wasn't like she could dodge as easily as the brown-haired patient had been doing earlier. Though, sometimes sacrifices had to be made to keep the peace. She ended up stumbling back, clutching at her cheek where his elbow had jabbed her.

An orderly was heading over - she hadn't even had to call for him. Apparently, he'd been keeping an eye on the struggle, which made sense; fights in the shower were a bit rarer than fights in the cafeteria.

"Sedate him?" he asked her as he walked up. Even though she felt bad about putting patients through that sort of thing, it seemed necessary at this point. Jacob had to learn. She nodded to him, and he started for Faust.

He would deny being surprised that the blond had attacked the nurse, but frankly, they set themselves up as so untouchable during the day that even to Hakkai it seemed almost out of the question to attack one of them and expect to get away with it.

Then again, who knew whether he was planning on getting away with it?

In either case, it left the other man unrestrained. Yet one more instance of Hakkai's stellar luck. He braced himself, mentally laughing at himself that for once he was actually cheering for the staff.

As soon as the nurse let go, Faust lunged for Hakkai. At this point, he would have settled for tearing the man's throat out, but the still rational part of his mind knew what was coming next.

He had to get in as many shots as he could before he was taken down.

Unfortunately, Faust did have the time to get some hits in, if Hakkai let him, but the orderly didn't take too long to head over to the blond and seize him by the arm. His grip was much stronger compared to the nurse's - after all, orderlies were hired based on their... large stature.

It wasn't hard to just take a good hold on the patient's arm and then inject him, either. It wouldn't be long before Jacob started making such a scene, and the rest of the patients would be left to shower in peace.

'Let' wasn't really the right word there. Hakkai would have to think of the proper word as soon as he was sure he wasn't going to get attacked yet again. He eyed the orderly warily. He wouldn't put it past the staff to just sedate him, too, for good measure.

Either the blond was a better fighter than he looked like he should be, or Hakkai was slower than usual today. Probably both. Whichever explanation, though, Hakkai was going to have a couple of interesting bruises.

That Faust was being bodily dragged away from Hakkai wasn't a good thing, a part of his mind said. It meant he was already starting back down that road to his madness again.

This knowledge didn't stop him from trying to get away from the orderly and at the other man. It was just a fact to be filed away.

A sharp stab in his arm and his eyes flew wide. Well, he thought as the drugs took effect, hopefully the morphine that had been in his system already had burned off mostly and there wouldn't be any adverse effects.

Faust wouldn't be finishing this shower today...

He most certainly wouldn't be. The orderly felt the patient slump under his grip and started to tug him toward him so that he could get a better hold. It wouldn't do any good for the blond to hit the floor.

Turning to face the nurse, who seemed to have mostly recovered from the bash she had taken to her cheek, he started to hand Jacob over. "You can take care of him from now?"

She nodded, gently taking hold of Faust's shoulders and keeping him steady. "Of course." She looked down at him and smiled, already seeming to have forgiven him for the way he had hit her. "Where would you like to go, dear? The game room, the sun room, or back to your own room?"
