Night 71: West Wing, South Hall 1-B

The hallway was empty, too, but she could hear voices, so some of the men were at least up and moving. There were a lot more of them -- was it because they took mostly fighters? Despite having the same basic geneset, some of the designers had argued against having half of her siblings be female. Even after they'd been born; even after the girls had started to outlive the boys.

Tsubaki knew the one thing she couldn’t do was stand around and do nothing for the night. She’d already had most of her supplies ready and waiting by the time the staff had arrived to collect Korra, so it only took her a moment to arm herself.

The question after that was, where to go?

She made it to the main corridor outside of the female block and stopped, torn. The note sat clenched in her fist. How was she supposed to accomplish any of this? She’d heard rumors that Special Counselling took place on the third floor, or at least somewhere upstairs, but that didn’t help much at all. And although she wanted to help Korra, she didn’t know if Korra would still be in a treatment room, wherever those were.

… What if she couldn’t fulfill what the note wanted, either? Would something bad happen?

Her footsteps along the floor were her only companions, as soft as she could make them. They reminded her of her metal-plated high heels, something she could have been able to help defend herself with even if she had no real martial arts expertise. With still no real idea on who brought her here, she had to be careful and hope that the flashlight she was using wouldn't alert problems.

Ciel's findings gave her alarm to other aspects of whoever was responsible for her being here: Why was no one else here? Did something happen? A part of her met this idea with concern, not necessarily for herself but for their whereabouts. If they were captors, something must be distracting them, but if they were rescuers ... It was enough however to make her shake her head. Now wasn't the time to get distracted with other things, she tried to chastise herself. She had to make her way around the building and figure out what's going on anyway, and run for it in the worst-case scenario.

She had two choices on where to go from exiting the block behind her, but the long, dark hallway to her left gave her pause. Something about it didn't feel right. Was it her feelings of dread starting to cloud her judgement? Maybe, but regardless of the cause of her intuition, the way to the right was closer and also felt more open. The light mist continued to persist as the minutes went on and didn't ease up. There were no windows anywhere, but it had to mean she was above ground. She could also tell there was some sort of overall illumination that way, however dim, causing her to turn her flashlight off as her night vision got better. Was a way outside somewhere nearby?
