Day 69: Sun Room

Korra wandered into the Sun Room while rubbing her hair dry with a small towel. The shower had been nice, at least. She had wanted her nurse to take her outside, but apparently there would be none of that for the moment. The "adults" were out there. What were they doing that they couldn't let her go outside, too?? She wasn't used to this, being cooped up. It reminded her of her time in the sewers.

She flopped down onto one of the couches, keeping an eye out for someone to chat up. Sure, her social skills weren't exactly 'honed,' yet, but that didn't mean she didn't want to talk to people. There wasn't anything else to do here, anyway.

"If it'll get me yelled at by S car again, we should probably skip it," Ed muttered. "Speaking of, if we find him tonight, feel like following him around?"

Al nodded with a smile. "I'm not happy with how he did it, but I do want to thank him for saving my life at the very least. And why would he yell at you for that?"

"For risking our lives for food. I tried to point out how automail works but he doesn't care. Maybe he'll listen to you."

Al scowled at that. "He better listen to me, or he'll get a wholloping if he yells at you for getting the food you need again!"

"Mmm. I did warn him at some point that he can expect to get into plenty of arguments with me," Ed said, somewhat randomly.

Al laughed a bit. "That happens with anyone that's around you long enough, Brother."

The itchiness started to come up in his throat again, and he swallowed hard, hoping it might go away.

"I know. I felt it only fair to warn him," Ed said, making himself a bit more comfortable.

Al started to cough a bit as the itchiness got worse, and he stood up. "Oh, jeez, not again..."

Ed scrambled to be away from him. "Don't throw up on me, I already took a shower today."

"I know!" he snapped, scrambling over to a clear spot away from people as the nausea set in. After a few dry heaves, he started hacking up another mass of tangled back hair.

Again, it didn't take long for the fit to be over with, and the mess quickly cleaned by the nurses, who were prepared this time. One of them put a hand on his shoulder as he took deep breaths to try and stop the trembling in his limbs. "Are you sure you don't want to go lay down, Jonathan?"

"I was just sitting and talking, I'll be fine," he grumbled, going back over to the couch as the nurse shook her head at him and went back to her rounds.

"Jonathan?" was the first thing out of Ed's mouth when Al got within range.

"Yeah," he said, grimacing at the taste of bile in his mouth. "That's the name they're trying to give me. And as you can tell, they don't even see what I'm really throwing up right now. Lust said they're always like that, not noticing what really there."

Ed shook his head. "That's really weird. Need to go rinse your mouth out to get rid of the nasty taste?"

"No kidding." Al nodded and stood to go over to the bathroom. "I think I better, yeah."

While Al was gone, Ed took the opportunity to lay on the couch, facing the back with his eyes closed. He sorta wanted his nap now.

Al came back after a bit, blinking when he saw Ed taking up the whole couch. Chuckling a bit, he sat down on the floor in front of the couch, back facing it. "Feeling tired?"

"A bit. Last night's transmutation took a lot out of me and I don't expect to get much rest tonight either. You should probably also nap," Ed said, not opening his eyes.

"Wouldn't be a bad idea," he said, shifting to get a bit more comfortable and closing his eyes.
