Day 69: Courtyard
Link was feeling overall good as he was escorted outside after breakfast. The food had been good, and the weather was nice. It wasn't so cold anymore, but still comfortable. He much preferred coming outside to being cooped up in that stuffy, dull building. The Hylian was trying to remain positive. They had the cure now, did they not? People were getting better.
The death toll was impossible to ignore, though.
He sighed, hands in his pockets as he shuffled through the grass and settled himself on the lawn. This was nice. At least, it was as nice as things could get around here. Link's mind drifted back home, back to Ordon and Hyrule and Midna and Zelda. Everything was okay there, now. And he couldn't even see it for himself.

YOSH! o9
He knew his body's limits. He could take standing still for maybe a thirty minute period, and then he had to move. It was all a part of his nature. There was nothing wrong with taking a short break for a chat, however.
"I usually train even in my leisure time," Lee explained, still stretching but not in a way that would distract him from the conversation. "It is part of my job, but it is also a hobby. What about you, sir?"

"Your job?" The Hylian knew all about jobs and hobbies somehow coming together as the same thing. Two of his greatest loves, riding his horse and swordsmanship, had been his greatest assets in his travels.
"Well... I was a farmhand-" And he still considered himself one, to be perfectly honest- "but I'm also a swordsman of... sorts." How was he supposed to explain that he was fated to be a great hero without sounding vain? As usual, he simply left that part out.
"I always trained in the afternoon after work on the ranch was done." He could have easily squeezed it in the morning, but...
Mornings. He shuddered at the thought of rousing himself so early.

"Ah, another warrior!" Lee felt that in itself was an auspicious sign! Of course, most of the others he had met in the institute had some form of fighting skill, but that was beside the point. "And one trained up from a civilian way of life! Was the transition difficult for you, or have you been working on your skills since childhood?"
Lee knew civilians could often take up arms against enemies, but he had to wonder how effective they would be against those who had dedicated their lives to battle.

"I suppose you could call it that..." Link himself still found the title 'warrior' to be daunting. His journey, all the way up through the moment he ended Ganondorf's life, was still a blur. He hadn't had a moment to stop and let sink in all that had happened.
He shook his head. "No, I wanted to learn when I was young. So a very close friend agreed to take me on as an apprentice." Though Rusl was honestly more like his father, at this point.
sorry this is hideously late 8|;;; if you don't wanna backtag that's fine ^^;
Lee looked him over. He seemed pretty well-muscled. Well enough, anyway, even with the unflattering gray shirt and pants. His smile quirked into a smirk. "I have never learned swordplay, but perhaps if you are in need of more practice sometime we can spar!"
Nah, lateness is no problem!
\o/ Thank you!
Sometimes when fighting came into the conversation Lee's mouth could run faster than his feet, and they were pretty darn fast! However, he rarely recognized this flaw and just kept on talking and gesturing wildly in the same enthusiastic way that he tackled anything in life.

"Well, I certainly wouldn't want to come at you with a sword." There weren't any training blades to be used, here. "And I doubt the staff would allow me to take it out during the day."
