Day 69: Breakfast
Scar scowled, both relieved and angry that he had woken up once again in his own bed. That lanky man who had become his new roommate on the night of his death was sound asleep one bed over.
This was coming to be the new "normal." It was infuriating.
As always, he begrudgingly followed his nurse into the cafeteria and took a seat. He preferred to file in with the majority of the patients in order to avoid sticking out, but no such luck this morning.
Scar stared at his food rather than starting in on it, despite the newly found appetite that had been lost thanks to that blasted sickness. He had a lot to think about. He hadn't managed to find Frank last night. The damn intercom had beaten him to it. And judging by Tsubaki's reaction to him, he had been out for at least a day's time. How many had noticed? Cared? It couldn't have been many.
But it was the few who did whose detection Scar was desperate to avoid.
[Eddyyyy!]

"There haven't been any reports of the cure backfiring, so you may be able to breathe easily after all," Castiel said as he took another careful bite of his food. Despite Aigis' hesitance to do anything about her state, it seemed that she had come out of it better than Castiel in the end. He was the one who was still healing, after all. Nonetheless, he still didn't regret his decision to undergo the surgery, as something horrific may have happened otherwise.
"I had a flower I was planning to give you, but I'll need to see if there's anyone else who could make use of it." All in all, this was good news, even though Castiel was somewhat let down by the fact that he'd been too late to be of any help. In the end, he knew it was more important that Aigis had been healed as soon as possible.

Hearing that Castiel had saved a flower for her warmed her on the inside, though she wasn't sure what to make of it. He owed her nothing. Perhaps it was out of pure fellowship with his fellow prisoners that made him offer it, or simply out of worry for the livelihoods of others should she turn. "Very kind of you. I greatly appreciate the gesture, Castiel-san."
She smiled at him and took a sip of her drink. "I am certain someone else can benefit from your kindness. Do tell me if you have luck in your endeavor."
She tilted her head to the side, considering the situation as a whole. "I wonder what Landel thought he gained from all this, other than terror and loss of subjects. Perhaps the situation was only put in place to distract us..."
