Day 65: Intercom, Evening
As some of the clouds from earlier began to clear, the intercom jingle sounded over the intercom once again.
"Hello, patients!" came the Head Doctor's cheery voice. "I hope you're all feeling fresh and clean this evening! To top it all off, we've prepared a scrumptious herb chicken dinner for you to eat before bed. Of course, we have vegetarian options available, so please don't hesitate to ask the nurse if you're interested in that.
Also, since we have the pleasure of welcoming a few new patients into our family, some of you will be receiving new roommates. Let's do our best to give them a nice, big Landel's Institute welcome, shall we?"
The Head Doctor gave a friendly chuckle. "Well, anyway, enjoy your dinner!"
With that, the intercom shut off.
[Note: All dinner threads are posted in response to this entry. Be sure to check the Roommate Assignments if you're not sure what room/roommate your character has! Thanks.]

She especially had to hold out for Castiel, who was going to have the most difficult (not to mention vomit-inducing) wound to deal with. If she didn't have enough juice left in her hair by the time she got to him, he was going to be the most likely one to...
Thankfully, the sound of Tsubaki's voice was there to take her mind off the uncertainties of the coming night. "What smells good?" she asked, closing the door behind her quietly.

"Hi," she said. "The chicken?"
She couldn’t say she was really in the mood to enjoy dinner, but her body needed to be fed--it was essential that she stay fit, and not just because there were people depending on her physical prowess. She picked up her fork, though she expected most of what they had to talk about would kill the last of her appetite.
"I’m sorry I didn’t see you today. I tried to check up on the man I met last night, and Sora, and some other people I know who are sick."

She sighed faintly when the subject of Sora came up, though. "Yeah, I saw Sora today too," she said. "He looks... Is it rude to say horrible?" After chewing on her bottom lip a moment, she continued: "I'm hoping tonight we can make some real progress on this thing, though. I'm going to meet someone after I'm done with your friend and a few others tonight, and we're going to test a cure. It's way off from the kind of cure I'd like but..." Rapunzel crossed her fingers. "Here's hoping."

After Sora had confessed his plans to try for the surgical route, Tsubaki hadn’t heard anything else about what he was going to do during the course of the night; she got the impression he was trying to keep his friends safe by trying to keep them out of the situation. That never worked, though. It just made it a little more difficult to help him.
“I think we’re past rudeness now.” She sighed before looking up hopefully. “Did he happen to say what he was up to? I’m sure if we get more hints about the cure tonight everyone will want to go looking…” Or, as Rapunzel said, everyone would be trying to test the cure. Tsubaki kept her expression even, but she couldn’t help the twinge of unease she got each time someone mentioned doing surgery on someone’s stomach--at least that was what she thought Rapunzel was getting at. “You mean… inspecting someone’s stomach?” she asked.
Tsubaki knew about cutting open the body. She knew about blood and physical pain. But this… this was different.

"Yeah. I'm not looking forward to it, but I have to try. I'm probably the only person around who can heal a wound like that right after it's been made," she explained. "And the sooner we know if it works or not, the better. I don't know what Sora's doing tonight, but whatever it is, he won't be able to do much of it until we can find a way to cure him."

Tsubaki couldn’t refute the other girl’s logic, either. If this surgery business yielded a cure, then Tsubaki supposed it was worth a try. Depending on how things went with Leanne and Scar, hopefully they would have something helpful to add that could cut back on the dangers of a hasty surgery.
It was too bad Rapunzel didn’t seem to know anything about Sora, though. He was going to be with someone, right? Whatever he decided to do?
She scooped up a small piece of chicken with her fork. “One way or another, there’s a cure out there. And then Sora will be fine.”
