Day 65: Intercom, Evening
As some of the clouds from earlier began to clear, the intercom jingle sounded over the intercom once again.
"Hello, patients!" came the Head Doctor's cheery voice. "I hope you're all feeling fresh and clean this evening! To top it all off, we've prepared a scrumptious herb chicken dinner for you to eat before bed. Of course, we have vegetarian options available, so please don't hesitate to ask the nurse if you're interested in that.
Also, since we have the pleasure of welcoming a few new patients into our family, some of you will be receiving new roommates. Let's do our best to give them a nice, big Landel's Institute welcome, shall we?"
The Head Doctor gave a friendly chuckle. "Well, anyway, enjoy your dinner!"
With that, the intercom shut off.
[Note: All dinner threads are posted in response to this entry. Be sure to check the Roommate Assignments if you're not sure what room/roommate your character has! Thanks.]

He started to cut up his chicken, wanting to section it into small bites so that it might go down easier if he worked up the courage to eat. He really didn't know how his stomach was going to handle something like that, but at this point he wasn't going to be able to keep going if he didn't fuel up, so to speak.
"I was going to go looking for some supplies," he said first, because while he might be able to borrow some of it from Lingormr, it would be better to be extra-prepared. "And... maybe look for a place where someone could perform surgery." Just doing it in their room was an option, as there were beds here and it was safe, but a more equipped area might be better. At this point Sora needed to explore all of his options.

And then the surgery... Link frowned, glancing away from Sora for a moment. This was trickier.
"The girl who was with us last night. She said that she could heal people. Do you know her?" Link still stood by his offer to help Sora in any way necessary. He knew how to dress a wound from doing it to himself so many times, but this was going to be very serious. It was unlike anything doctors attempted in Hyrule.

"Most of the supplies are in the medical wing, I think." That's what he had heard, anyway, and it made a lot of sense. He wished he could have given better directions than that, but he hadn't explored the whole area himself. The doors there were labeled, so that was one thing.
Maybe it would be for the best to lock himself up here and get some rest. Sora hadn't even been able to stand for long periods of time today, so running around the institute seemed like an immense task at the moment.
Rapunzel was mentioned, and Sora nodded. "Yeah, I know her. Her name's Rapunzel, and she's definitely willing to help, but there are a few other people she's already healing tonight. So I think I'll meet up with her tomorrow." Provided that he was still hanging in there by then, but it was probably better to think positive.
no subject
"You're talking about supplies for surgery, I'm guessing?"
He nodded when Sora mentioned Rapunzel, taking note of the name. He certainly didn't want to overrun her with people. Link was certain that a power like that was heavily coveted by patients- so much so that he almost feared for her safety in this tense situation. Sechs had talked about patients killing one another over this thing...

He also didn't know if he should let Link go on his own or if he should tag along. He might be more of a danger that way, so maybe it would make more sense to hang back and rest after all.
"I'd appreciate you going for me, but you really shouldn't go alone. There might be another guard there tonight." It was supposed to switch off between the brainwashing and the experiments, but Sora didn't want to assume anything at this point.

And Link was determined to help.
"I just need an idea as to what I'm looking for. I'm not sure how this place performs its procedures.
no subject
That had already almost happened too many times, with people like Rapunzel and Kratos. He really appreciated what they were doing for him, but it hurt at the same time. He was supposed to be the one taking hits for others.
"The kind of stuff you'd need is like... a scalpel, bandages, disinfectant, that sort of thing. If you found a place with supplies, it'd probably just be safest to grab one of everything." Sora thought it over, wondering what he would have grabbed if he'd stumbled across a set of supplies. "Oh! Gloves, too."

So the Hylian decided not to even try convincing Sora otherwise, and stood to pull the cloth covering from his pillow. If he was getting one of everything, he would need something to carry it in. He gave Sora a reassuring and confident smile.
"One of everything it is, then." Link honestly didn't know what half of those things were. But he was usually quite good at finding what he was looking for when he didn't even know what it was that he needed. This was just another puzzle, and he wasn't going to solve it without finding the things he needed.
"If... we're going to be doing surgery, it may be best not to eat anything," he added with a touch less lightheartedness in his tone.
no subject
The problem, though, was that more patients might be turning into monsters tonight, which could crowd the halls further. Sora felt his blood go cold at the thought, but he wasn't about to turn away from the reality either.
When Link made a suggestion, Sora glanced over and nodded. "Yeah, you're right, I won't. I... don't have much of an appetite lately, anyway." The lack of food was going to get to him eventually, but he could hold out for a little longer, right? Especially if he went with Link's suggestion and stayed in tonight. For now, Sora fell back onto his bed to lay down, sighing as he felt some relief in his abdomen as a result.
no subject
He just needed to get back into the groove of things. Link had thought he would be able to relax now that Hyrule was safe, but he had a new mission now.
"I'll get there and back as quickly as I can," Link said quietly as Sora lay down. For now, his roommate needed to rest.
It was going to be a long night.
