Night 61: Main Hallway, 1-West

The main hall was dead quiet as Soma rounded the corner. The last few nights, this place had been bustling with fellow patients; the sudden calm was very nearly unnerving.

Still, she tried to put it out of her mind. Marie didn't sense anything out of the ordinary--yet.

ZEX had never been good at realizing when he was making other people uncomfortable, and with his inexperience with human social cues, he had absolutely no idea that his admiration might be upsetting them. Why would it? After all, who wouldn't want to be appreciated for their unsettling, ghastly beauty? He couldn't understand that mindset at all.

Unaware of whether or not he was making them uncomfortable, ZEX tried to stay with the conversation, although he couldn't tear his remaining eye away from his new aesthetic obsession. "Ah yes, the medical wing... I was meaning to do some more exploration there myself. I'd be happy to accompany you, yes..."

Trailing off somewhat. It was hard to focus with that monstrous beauty staring right at him! ZEX wasn't sure what the hand motion indicated, but the offer seemed clear enough. How delightful! "Oh, I would if I had the ability! I've never seen a human that looked so... beautiful before." As always, ZEX assumed that everyone loved a compliment. "Forgive me if I am a little unfocused, I've long appreciated difference on a level... deeper than most. But I won't keep you!" Meant in that he wouldn't slow them down, but if he had his menagerie here, then this human would be the first to be collected. "Feel free to lead the way."

Mmm, tonight was going well so far.

...Now Zero felt even more bewildered by the unfamiliar man and his apparent fixation on Mr. Dent. Did this guy really think Dent and the disturbingly decayed half of his face were beautiful? That was a very...unusual opinion. Or was this just some human thing he wasn't understanding here? It wouldn't be the first time.

Then again, the man said he'd 'never seen a human look so beautiful', so that likely implied that he wasn't originally human himself. If so, then that might explain some things...perhaps....

......Well, forget about it, they had work they needed to be doing now. If this man wanted to come along, then fine. As long as he was helpful and didn't have any ulterior motives, Zero would accept him as a member of their group tonight and just...do his best to ignore the guy's strange fascination with Dent's face. (Now, it would be a completely different story if Zero was the one being stared at, but...it was better not to think of the what-ifs.)

"... Alright then. Let's get going." With that, the once-Reploid turned and started walking to the next hallway. They'd wasted enough time here was it was. If Dent or the newcomer weren't going to follow, then that was their choice.
