Night 73: Main Hallway 3-Center
[from here]
The door led out to another balcony, like the one on the second floor, where they could see down into the Sun Room below. There was a sheet of glass, however, that meant though they could see down, nobody could see up. ... Too bad for Landel that hadn't been enough to keep this floor a secret.
From here, however, there were a lot of potential places to go. "Normally I'd suggest starting at the end, but I guess it doesn't make much of a difference in this case," he said with a frown. They couldn't methodically check through every room in a linear fashion like that when there was no predicting where any of the pads they found might take them.

Tsurugi had really been holding out on him, if he'd experienced all of that stuff and never mentioned it before now. Sora was definitely going to have to drill him further on that (especially the dinosaurs), but for now he needed to focus on where they were going.
It wasn't hard to pinpoint where they were, which was two levels above the Sun Room. It was hard to see from all the way up here, but it looked pretty empty down there still. That was good, since it meant that other groups might be able to make it this far.
"Hmm, well... there's a door right here," he pointed out, moving to the right from where they'd exited. Surprisingly, it opened without a problem, though when he aimed his flashlight inside all he saw were a few couches and tables, and no glowing purple light. "Looks like a dead end."

He followed Sora down the hall, continuing farther and opening the next door.
"Only a large table in here. For conferences, perhaps." He shone his light around carefully, frowning. Would there be completely pointless rooms? If they ran out of leads, he supposed he could inspect it thoroughly, but for now...
Link shut the door, turning his light back to the hallway, eyes narrowing on the larger set of doors in the center.

"... It's locked," he commented. It also wasn't rusted over, and if he assumed this was anything like other doors he came across like this, that meant they wouldn't be able to open it without a key. It was frustrating, when in any normal case he could just break the whole thing down in a single blow, but he supposed there were places where Landel anticipated that kind of power. In any case, there wasn't anything they could do about it right now. "I guess we'll have to save it for later."
He pressed on, finding yet another door that was already completely open, scanning the inside before stepping in completely.

He stepped into the corridor, which turned out to be a glassed-in balcony. A glance down made it easier to orient himself--in spite of the teleportation, they seemed to be just above where they had started--and at first, as they moved, he didn't say anything.
"However, I am an expert in security systems." Although his voice was soft, the words sounded abrupt, like an admission: the conclusion of an otherwise-silent debate he'd been having with himself.
What was the point in trying to hide it from her anymore?

Or he might just be a very private person. "Then we're heading this way," she said, stating the completely obvious just to re-enforce the fact that the job was all that mattered. She quickened her pace, stepping around him to take the lead.

It was a hallway similar to all the others, really.
Korra was wary as always as they stepped out into the third floor hall. She peered down into the Sun Room with a frown. She would have noticed if she had been able to see up to here, wouldn't she?
"You said those two rooms are empty, right?" She shined her light at the two doors located North of the room they had popped out into. She needed to take a better look at that map. Clearly, she hadn't done a very good job memorizing it.

So this was the mysterious third floor that no one had been able to reach from the outside...
She looked back up with a blink before turning to look down the hall toward them. "Mm, supposedly. That one doesn't look like it even has a lock on it. I can check!" Quickly, Tsubaki darted toward the staff lounge door, no stranger to doing recon in circumstances that required haste. She opened the door as quietly as she could, but inside was nothing more than the room name suggested.
Unsure if Korra would see it in the darkness, she still tried to give the girl the all-clear signal before moving onto the other doorway, which was farther away. Again, the "conference room" plaque revealed the very same, not unlike the kind she and Rapunzel had visited during their mission briefing.
"It looks like an employee lounge and a meeting room," she said once she had double-backed Korra's way, returning to within earshot so as to murmur her findings.

"These aren't opening." She rattled the handle for a moment before winding up and giving the doors a solid kick accompanied with a blast of fire.
Not a great idea.
"Yeah, definitely not opening." Korra cringed and hopped up and down on one foot for a moment. They'd just have to keep trying.

The reason the doors weren't opening probably had something to do with the heavy-duty lock in the way, but before she could point out the fact in a well-meaning suggestion, Korra had already resorted to beating on them like a human battering ram.
So very like Black☆Star...
Tsubaki tried not to let her doubt show in her tone. "They probably need a special key to open by the looks of it..."

Score.
"This one works. It has a panel, too," she said as she pulled the door open and entered the conference room

The hallway outside made it immediately apparent that the teleportation pad had sent them vertical, perhaps even in a straight line, because the huge sheet of glass that began at the edge of the balcony overlooked the Sun Room.
A slow chill crawled down his spine at the thought of Landel (or any of his people, diminished as his sentient staff seemed to be) watching the patients throughout the day. All the time they'd spent planning, discussing, even posting to the bulletin board -- small wonder the man had been so confident in his power for so long.
