Night 67: Men's Bathroom (off Sun Room)

((From here.))

The moment he passed through the door, Claude was once again assaulted with a wave of dizziness, and the feeling that his stomach had jumped straight into his throat. His feet stumbled against what he realized was blue and white tile. After he regained his balance, Claude looked up to find the familiar sight of the men's bathrooms -- more specifically, the one they used when getting ready for a shower.

"Oh, come on," he huffed. "A bathroom? Really?"

Then again, what else should he have expected? It wasn't like Landel was going to let them walk out of that last room without any troubles.

Oh yeah. There was a night when the doors were all weird. Anise missed most of it because the first door she and her friends took had led them to Baticul, of all places. She'd read the bulletin and heard other patients' stories, though, and had an idea of what they were going through. It sounded a lot like this.

Anise was quick to follow when Claude tried leaving the room, but the next one wasn't much of an improvement.

"Boooo, it's like they're making fun of us," she griped. And it had to be the boys' room, too. At least it was cleaner than she thought it'd be, but Anise was pretty eager to leave. Almost any room was better than this.

"What the--Ah!" As soon as they had entered, the door behind them opened again. He spun on his heels, sword at the ready, but it was only two more poor bastards who had been swept up in this stupid little game. Luke was already starting to get frustrated with this pointless endeavor. They had serious plans to finish and the longer they were shuffled like a deck of cards in this institute, the fewer infected patients they could help.

"Damnit, this is a waste of time. Stop toying with us!" The replica shouted at the dark ceiling. Who knew if he was actually watching this mayhem unfold before him, but it certainly made him feel better to shake his fist in the Head Doctor's face.

It really didn't take long for Anise and Luke to get annoyed. Claude didn't seem that happy, either. While Guy wasn't exactly thrilled with this turn of events, he was just glad that this had been sprung on them after Anise and Claude had been cured. If not, then he probably would have been at the end of his rope by now, he had to admit.

Guy watched as two other patients stumbled through and then left just as soon. Honestly, they had the right idea, because there wasn't anything worth doing in a bathroom of all places.

"We'd better get used to it. I don't think the chances of landing somewhere helpful are very high." But as that other patient had said before they'd left again, all they could do was keep trying.

Which was why Guy shrugged his shoulders and stepped through the door without any further delay.

[Warping from here]

A restroom, of sorts. And there were others in here, as well. Link didn't bother them, holding the door open for Tsurugi.

"This is useless... We're not getting anywhere useful."

A bathroom, huh... For a moment, Kyousuke considered splashing some cold water on his face, to help with his tiredness, but in the end, he decided against it. Maybe if there were less people around.

As for where they ended up, he couldn't say much. If Landel had gone through all the trouble to keep sending them random places, it seemed like it would defeat the purpose if they ended up somewhere good. That island, though... What had been the purpose of that? At this point, it felt like an insult, like he was being told he could never leave.

He snorted. ... As if he was going to believe that.

"We'll just have to keep trying," he said simply. This time, he opened the door himself, tired of being helped along.
