Day 50: Intercom, Evening

As expected, after the allotted amount of time had passed, the nurses started to move through the waiting rooms to inform the visitors that it was time for them to leave, whereas in the Sun Room King Kong was turned off and the staff quickly sprung to action to put the equipment away.

Meanwhile, the sound of intercom turning on cut into the hustle and bustle, but it was Lydia's voice which came through. "Mr. Landel is taking a quick nap," was all she said by way of explanation, as she seemed to be beyond making lengthy excuses for the man. "Nurses, once the visitors have said their goodbyes, escort the patients back to their rooms for dinner. Tonight there is steak and fries on the menu, with a slice of cheesecake for dessert and vegetarian options if requested.

"Enjoy your food and have a good sleep." Keeping it short, the intercom then turned off.

At least Minako seemed to be in a good mood. She was smiling and alert and didn't seem to be injured. Kagura took a couple bites of her dinner, then a long sip from her water glass.

"The... the stuff with the doors?" she asked, voice only just above a whisper. Had she missed something? She and Haine hadn't gotten far before she woke up the next morning, but maybe something else had gone on. It might explain some of the strange bulletin posts.

"...huh?" Minako hesitated, head tilting to one side slightly as she wondered if maybe she'd misheard that. It was possible, since Kagura was talking so quietly for some reason, but she was pretty sure anyway. "You didn't get sent to a weird place when you walked through a door? Everyone else I talked to today had that happen."

Slight exaggeration, maybe. Everyone she'd talked to about the night before, maybe, which consisted of, oh... one person. But it still had to be true! "Like, I went through a door that Arthur said was supposed to go to the field outside and we ended up in some kind of sitting room... thing. With chairs. And then that door dropped us in the middle of nowhere in the rain. It was so weird."

"A weird place? N-no, nothing like that," she replied, blinking a few times in surprise at her roommate's reaction. Was it really so surprising? Should she have gone somewhere strange?

"We didn't go very far. Haine-san and I were just looking for some of my friends. Maybe that's why? We... we never made it to the field outside or... or anything like that."

"Oh. Maybe that's it." Minako settled back into her chair, tapping a fingertip against her chin with a puzzled frown. Was the door to the field the key to the whole thing? Or other doors? She'd walked through the door from her room and from the block of rooms into the hallway and nothing had happened either time. But the other doors had dropped them in different places.

Or... maybe it had to do with being with other people. But no, Kagura had been with Haine-san, whoever Haine-san was. Weird. Well, hopefully it was a puzzle that she wouldn't encounter again tonight, because she kind of wanted to look around the place for real. It was hard to do when nothing was where it should be, and when she ended up in the middle of the freezing rain for no good reason. (Fortunately it wasn't raining tonight, so she could head for the outdoors without worrying too much.)

Minako considered a minute longer, then finally just shrugged and pushed to her feet again. "Well, hopefully it doesn't happen again. I didn't get anywhere I really wanted to." Because if she got home she wanted to go to her real home instead of that empty weird version of it. What was with that, anyway? She flopped onto the bed and reached under her pillow, halfway surprised to find the coiled metal whip right where she'd left it that morning. Did the staff not search their rooms or anything?

Kagura could imagine how frustrating it might be, so maybe it was a good thing that she hadn't gotten far the other night. She'd hate to go through a door and get lost somewhere else! It was hard enough to navigate at night as it was!

"Oh? Where were you trying to get to Minako-chan? I-if it's alright to ask," she managed, eyes flicking to whatever Minako was reaching for under her pillow and then back to her own plate. She should probably leave a nice note for Badou so that he knew which room was the right one. It'd been a while since she'd made anything like that, so she hoped it was up to par.

Where was she trying to go? Minako hesitated a moment, then shrugged and drew the whip out and onto her lap and began carefully inspecting the links. It looked just like the one she could summon as Sailor Venus, but it wasn't... quite. There was no sense of power or energy about it, and she was certain that she wouldn't be able to do any special attacks with the thing. She just hoped it wasn't broken somehow from being dragged here, since she'd still been transformed and everything when the night apparently ended.

"I didn't have anything really specific in mind," she replied, without looking up. "I haven't been here long, though. So just about anywhere would've been good, so I could kind of learn the layout. You know? Find something other than mud and rain." And broken once-magical weapons.

Kagura wasn't entirely sure what to make of the chain Minako pulled from under her pillow. It was made of what looked like long links and flowers that looked like they were made from metal. What was it for though?

"Oh-! That's pretty! Did you make that in arts and crafts Minako-chan? Is it... is it a belt?" she asked curiously. Was it rude to ask? Or would that be ok? It really was pretty.

"Mm, w-well be careful. I'm not really sure where I'll be going either, but... but there's an awful lot to watch out for. If... if you need anything specific, I might be able to tell you where to find it."

"Oh, it's...." Minako hesitated, one finger tracing the edge of a metal rose as she considered the question. "I, um, found it last night." True, but also leaving out a lot of unnecessary details that would just... complicate things. Maybe it wasn't needed since she couldn't transform or anything at the moment, but the habit of secrecy was hard to break.

She quickly flashed a bright grin and pushed the coiled whip to one side as though it was unimportant, then went back to her pillow in search of the flashlight. "I'm just planning to look around for anything useful. You know, something with clues about where we are and why and how to get back." Other people were probably doing the same thing, but what would it hurt?
