Nightshift 48: Staff-Only Outdoor Patio Lounging/Eating Area

The chill air of the patio made Yukari glad she had chosen this outfit; even if it wasn't particularly suited for cold weather, it was much more insulated than her dress, leaving her less exposed to the errant breeze.

The youkai's attention, however, was not on the weather but the roof top. She stared up at the rooftop, trying to discern if another of those birds was hiding up there for them or not, but the shadows and the angle made it impossible to tell. Well, considering the last attack hadn't occurred until after they made a significant amount of noise, hopefully they'd be able to sneak by.

Likewise, the ninja's eyes quickly looked for any signs of movement. Seeing no threats, she would have liked to have spent a little bit of the night looking at the stars with Yukari, but she knew better.

The feel of the wind as it played with her hair helped calm Sheena's nerves a little. "Quickly now," she said, moving over to the door and opening it for Yukari.

Stepping out into the cool night air and pulling the ninja along behind her, Yukari noted once more the feeling of Sheena's presence, like an extension of her own body that she was newly aware of. She might have considered it odd were she not used to far odder conditions. If anything, it was actually kind of comforting, intuitively knowing she was there.

She giggled a little at the thought - how quickly she'd become used to the ninja's presence, not even half a month gone by.

Once outside, Sheena instinctively looked up at the rooftop, almost daring the birds to attack her now. She felt strong, she felt confident, she felt like she could take on the world (or Landel) with the youkai's pact to back her up.

She was distracted from her slightly power-tripping thoughts by Yukari giggling. Yes, she felt the youkai's warm amusement, but that didn't mean she could tell why.
