Day 48: Intercom, Evening
"AACHOO! Ahem!" The Head Doctor's slightly-better-but-still-congested voice came on clearly over the intercom. The sound of Nurse Lydia sighing and pulling out a tissue from somewhere in the background was also audible.
"Ah! Yes, thank you..." the Head Doctor muttered before continuing: "Well, it seems like today, like all days, must come to an end, even if it wasn't quite as bright and cheerful as we would like, hmmm? In any case, everyone will now be escorted to their quarters.... mmaahh... AAACHOO! Ah! Erb– yes, to their quarters, where they'll be served some Atlantic wild-caught salmon seasoned with garlic and herbs, along with mashed potatoes and a small garden salad. Our usual vegetarian alternatives and drinks are also available, along with a chocolate mousse dessert.
"And that's all... all ...aaaachoo!"
The intercom clicked off.

Re: F7
She didn't want to just stare at her plate, so she finally rolled away from the desk enough to turn and look at the door. She didn't know what she was doing tonight... or ever again. She had to stay here, for reasons that went beyond being trapped, but now more than ever she didn't want to.
Re: F7
It was just boring to people-watch. Watching a cripple who was in silent suffering was that much worse.
But Yomi persevered, as she wasn’t about to put herself out to try and pull the girl out of her tearfully-gilded cage. Oh, rattling it’d be an easy thing--the whole scenario of Yomi and Hokuto in a room together was a bad joke waiting to happen--but ultimately unhelpful. She needed to boost herself out of this, not wipe out her possible stepping stones. So they sat, Yomi’s meal continuing to go untouched. Maybe there was something interesting in the battle the girl had mentioned--
And then all the breath went out of her, forced out by a weight that was no longer there.
Yomi’s eyes flew wide, and without thinking, she was on her feet, facing the wall nearest Kagura’s cell. Kagura. She knew it immediately, she knew it without needing to be told. Ever since the older, alien Kagura had shown up five nights before, she’d been carrying the threat of complete ruin with her, day in and day out. The kyuubi’s promise to devour the sesshouseki and her with it, its breath on the back of her neck. The kyuubi that lived inside Kagura. And now it was gone.
Gone.
Gone.
That meant… The sesshouseki was a hissing press of voices in her veins. No presence. No recognition. The pull towards its place of belonging was absent. Not dulled, not sealed, but gone utterly as suddenly as it had come on. That meant the body with it, too.
The Tsuchimiya Kagura she hadn’t known and hadn’t remembered was--
