So Raphael could kick in a door. Big deal. Might as well have added some sirens and flashing lights to alert everyone to their exact location while they were at it. If he was just going to break it down, she sure as hell could've done that herself! Rather than answer or acknowledge his childish taunts (Kakashi could be watching after all), she gave an unimpressed shrug and walked right by him and into the room.
"So much for stealth," she sighed, but was on her guard the moment she entered the room. It looked as she might have expected really. Just a room with some books and chairs and other ordinary things. A quick survey of the room told her that at least nothing was lying in wait for them, but who knew what had been drawn to the loud banging as the door had been kicked in. Not to mention they couldn't exactly close it behind them if something dangerous did show up. It was a good thing she'd had him be the one to blame for that then.
"Cover me while I find the right ones," she ordered, letting her flashlight stray over the titles and pulling one up every once in a while to set it on top of the stack she was accumulating. Not too many, but hopefully enough that it would have all the information she needed.

She was starting that stupid ignoring him thing again, which he couldn't stand. He could handle it if people didn't like him, but ignoring him or doing that really annoying giggling was worse. If she started that up again, it'd be a damn miracle if he didn't just punch her in the face.
"Right, I'll cover ya," he grumbled. "'Cause these books sure look dangerous. Who knows what kinda damage a rabid paperback could do?" In his experience the only time you needed to be careful of books was if Donny was in a bad mood and had a heavy textbook on hand. Otherwise the only thing he could think of being less dangerous right now was a roomful of kittens or something.

"Who's fault is that?" she threw back, skimming titles as she went. "I can't be expected to wipe your ass for you the whole way. Ninja should always be prepared. Did you even think about trying the pens in your room? They're made up of smaller components that could be part of a makeshift lock pick. I mean seriously... you should know things like that. What if you get captured? Of course they're not going to just hand you a lockpick set and let you sneak your way out."
He was like a child! Even she knew when to be serious and when she had to work hard for what she wanted. Hell, she'd always had to work hard for what she wanted!
"And besides that, I meant you should watch our backs. You know? The way we came in? Since last time I checked, things that don't want us sneaking around are pretty likely to be drawn to big loud noises like... well, the one you just graced us with. Unless you think you're qualified to sort through these medical textbooks."
She added another one to the pile, making five total. It would do, but she'd rather have too many than too few. Just a quick look down the next row of books should do it.

He had an easier time with Leo leading than this, for crying out loud. At least his brother, while they didn't always see eye to eye, had shown he knew what the hell he was doing. If it hadn't been for the fact that he was being made to work with her, Raph wouldn't have thought twice about ditching Pinky and finding something more worthwhile to do. Getting these books just seemed like a huge waste of time.
"What the hell do you need these things for anyway?" he asked, his voice dropping back to more acceptable, hushed tones.

"Take half of these," she said, gritting her teeth and shoving about four heavy books at him, then shifting her weight to account for the ones she had to carry herself. That should do it, so all that was left was to cart them back to the room. She could probably study them a little at a time if she snuck pages into her journal. She hated to do that to a book, but sometimes the situation called for some tough choices.
"They're to make sure I know the proper medical terminology used in this world. Of course I already know many different chemical compounds, but I want to be sure that I'm mixing the correct dosages or giving the right medicines here. Not to mention the possibilities if I can counteract their sedatives or find out more about the kind of medicines they're using for their experimentation," she explained in a hushed voice, now carrying a load of books under one arm and her flashlight in the other.
"Any more questions?"

He accepted the books without a complaint, though he probably wouldn't have put it past Pinky to give him the heaviest of the lot or something. But if she thought that was going to slow Raph down, she had another thing coming.
"Nah, let's get the hell outta here," he said, shrugging off her explanation and pointed question. That kinda thing sounded more like Donnie's area to him. Raph knew enough to patch himself or his bros up in an emergency, but anything else he'd rather leave to someone like Donnie or one of their more medically experienced friends.
Adjusting his own stack of books, Raphael slipped out the door.
