Nightshift 22: M21 - M30 Hallway
Xemnas' plan to get information from his roommate turned out to be a failure, as his roommate didn't even show up. Instead, he decided to gather information by investigating the room he was in. He had stumbled on various items which were quite out of place for an institute such as this. Journals and pens, he could understand. But a flashlight? Or a radio?
Xemnas suspected this institute wasn't as it seemed to be. It was rather unfortunate that none of his subordinates could explain the details before they were escorted back to their respective rooms. Xemnas had hoped he could receive information from his roommate, but that too had failed.
The Superior's suspicions were confirmed as soon as he heard the announcement over the intercom. The way this man spoke was quite enough to confirm anything. A complete contrast from the announcements during the day. Such a happy facade they held up, but for who?
He noted the hallway was completely shrouded in darkness. Surely, other doors must've been unlocked as well, but he didn't hear a sound. Not even footsteps. Just his own breathing.
Confirming there weren't any direct threats, Xemnas carefully stepped out in the hallway, closing the door quietly behind him.

There was something both horribly wrong and horribly ironic with the action and the person behind it. Goku hadn't ever had the balls to do something so utterly stupid (intentionally, at least), and he had to wonder where the ape was getting it all of a sudden. It was that, combined with the growing number of rebellions the monkey had indulged in, that made the monk uneasy.
Sanzo swatted, blindly, at Goku's hand. Fuck, if only he could just see, he'd deal with this properly.
"What the fuck was that for?!" the priest snapped.

Let him dig his own grave, the monk thought grimly. There wasn't any way that Goku was getting off easily for the stuff he was pulling now, and he'd just have to take some responsibility for it later. The monkey was actually sniffing loudly near his shoulder and left ear now, and in the darkness, it was a startlingly animal noise. Probably because Sanzo was already on edge from the sounds from last night, but it and being crowded like this was enough to make the priest stiffen.
And then he felt something just barely touch the idiotic Landels emblem on his chest, suspiciously like fingers. Trust Goku to have to touch everything. The dumbass.
Oh, he was going to pay for this. Goku just really didn't mind that growing tally of retarded actions that Sanzo was going to come down on in some form or another.
The priest roughly shoved the monkey away. "That's because I am Sanzo, you idiot!" he snapped. "The fuckers here took my robes and the sutra, so I don't have a choice of what to wear. And right now, I'm not the one acting fucking insane."

As far as he knew, the nurses just loved telling all the patients where they were, and "why". Somehow, it didn't surprise the priest nearly as much as it should have to find that the announcement had passed right over Goku's head. The kid only really paid attention to things that interested him, and usually toned out whatever didn't.
And they were still talking to each other in the dark. Sanzo was well aware that the monkey's senses were far more accute than his own, so he could probably see the monk well enough.... but that didn't mean Sanzo shared that enhanced set of senses.
"Did you bring a flashlight?"

The priest had planned to try Crane's office again, but it might be worth checking out the chapel now that there wasn't any staff around. Part of him wanted to see if Landel left anything telling behind - perhaps something that might give more of a clue about how this place really worked. Even a sign to what the man really was. Sanzo wasn't counting on it, but they wouldn't know until they checked.
"Fine." Sanzo sighed. "Don't run off though. I'm not tripping because of you."

He just did. The chimp wanted to lead the monk around like some lost kid, and he wanted to make a goddamned footrace of it. The monk didn't even like expending that much effort during the times they've had to fend off the assassins: he wasn't about to go running through the halls, relying on the monkey of all people to be his eyes and hoping they didn't run head first into the next over-sized abomination this place housed.
Sanzo bristled, and dug his fingers into Goku's shoulder, although it was more to get him to stop before he charged off, rather than for reassurance.
"Dammit, Goku, we're not running like idiots through the fucking building. We'll go but we'll go at an appropriate pace."
