While the thing might be called a cat, that wasn't really the best term for it. It was closer to the size of a large (and large means large) dog, and the lack of hair and protrusions of its skeleton made "monster" a very appropriate name. The long, thin fangs that were still soaked in drool could barely be contained by its mouth, and its long tail whipped around with all the alertness of a true predator.
Unfortunately, these floors did not do it much good, and it couldn't get the proper traction to make a quick turn when the patient ran out of the way. Still, it was able to eventually skid to a stop and turn itself around, yowling in anger as it pounced toward the patient.
If there was one thing that was certain, it was that outrunning the thing was not much of an option.
