Nightshift 44: F-A Block Hallway

Hime peered out into the hallway. It was mostly empty; it seemed she was one of the first to come out of their cells. While this presented the problem of wandering alone without the cover of the herd, this also gave her a chance to scout out the population as they left their rooms. While Hime had confidence in her fighting abilities, she had no delusions about taking on whatever horrors lurked here by herself. Besides, she needed to find people who could fight; the basement did not sound like the kind of place one explored on their own, or even with just one other.

Recalling that all the patient rooms filtered out into the main hallway, Hime headed that way.

So long story short, Kurt didn't know her room number after all. Terry frowned a bit, knowing that even if Kurt had some logical assumptions, they were still just hoping for the best with no way to verify it. Still, he hadn't magically found out Wayne's room number on the way over, so he couldn't say much. Just think a few things that he'd keep to himself.

"Okay. Let's go with that, since it'll save us from knocking on every door in the block." Kitty had picked up on Peter being brainwashed just as fast as Terry had, so he was willing to agree that if nothing else, she was smart. "That means its just us tonight. There was a janitor's closet on the map last night, upstairs on the opposite end of the hospital. That might be the best bet for getting something we can use that doesn't involve the Sun Room."

Terry paused then, giving himself to go over the maps in his mind. He hadn't spent too long trying to memorize them, but since he'd been thinking about going to the closet the night before, he at least remembered that route pretty well. "I think there's stairs on that end of the hall. We can just go straight across, then head up, and we'll be almost there."

"Euh, right!" Kurt said, glad that he wasn't about to be browbeaten for not knowing Kitty's room number. Still, he made a mental note to ask her tomorrow--if not in person, then over the board. Because this not-knowing-where-his-teammates-are thing was not okay. Logan would kill him if he knew Kurt had left Kitty in the dust...

...God he hoped Wolverine never found out.

"Sounds like a good plan. Maybe I can get something for Kitty up there. She might be, I don't know, doing girly things or something." Girls did that, after all--hang out and talk while in their pajamas and stuff like that. Hanging out with say, Peter in their pajamas would have just been weird.

"We'd best get started then," Kurt said, pulling out the map he always had in his pocket and consulting it. Familiarizing himself with the route, he nodded and grinned toothily at Terry. "Let's go!"
