Day 44: Lunch
That had been a very frustrating shower. For many reasons. At least Raine was going to at least look at Forte. Hopefully, she'll actually heal him. The showers had also succeeded in making the ninja feel like a pervert. A mild one, but still... It was as if Yukari had picked that spot in the showers because she knew the ninja could easily see her.
Ugh! Damn youkai.
Squirreling herself away in a corner of the cafeteria, Sheena finger combed her wet hair before pulling it back with the bright red ribbon. She so needed her own hair ribbon back. She was attempting to formulate her plan of acquisition - she was ninja after all - as people started trickling into the room. The plan was put on pause, though, when her stomach rumbled.
Food now - plan later.

He tried, in that thought, not to remember how he'd imagined up those circumstances as a kid. He tried not to remember how desperately he'd wanted to believe them; how, until Chandra had come along, he'd been floating somewhere between life-long complacency and a complete nervous breakdown.
He succeeded. Mostly. He still couldn't get rid of the sharp rise in dread that he suddenly felt about seeing his roommate again, and he tried to push it aside by focusing on Brian again. The guy was getting friendly quick, though it was hard for Sylar to tell if "Gabe" was supposed to be a joke or not. He couldn't remember the last time anyone had called him that – third grade, maybe. He'd never had many friends to use it with, and now, it was just annoying.
"I have been trying to talk to him," Sylar replied in a growl, though a sideways glance made his words seem directed more at something else than at Brian. And maybe they were. He let out a breath and rubbed his eyes. "Sorry. It's been... difficult is all I'm saying."
It was also difficult to lose his cool all the time. It was difficult to cover it up with truth.

Wait, that was Star Wars.
He'd never been much of a Trekkie anyway.
"I wouldn't lose sleep over this," said Dean. Gabe looked like he was taking it pretty badly, so maybe this was hitting a nerve or something. That and Dean could attest from experience that running into your exact double? Not exactly fun-times right there. Couldn't say the guy didn't have a reason to get a little bitchy at him. "Y'know, I could talk to him, try to see if I can suss up anything. Kinda been wondering what his deal was anyway."
Okay, so it wasn't saving people or snatching cats outta burning buildings, but it wasn't gonna kill him to go out and talk to Spock more.

"I'd... really appreciate that, actually," he said, looking and feeling genuinely surprised. It suddenly occurred to him that yes, he didn't have to dig information out of Spock himself when there were others who could do it for him. Hell, if Brian had fallen so easily for this act, then maybe...
It occurred to him that there hadn't been much of an "act" to fall for when the whole Spock situation really did piss him off this much. The irony didn't escape him: he hadn't gotten anything useful so far out of Wally and Faize while some stranger had offered to help him with one of his biggest challenges.
Hilarious. And maybe just a little suspicious. Brian had been noticeably vague at the beginning of the conversation, and though he seemed to have opened up by now, Sylar couldn't tell if it was because he'd managed to put the guy at ease or vice versa.
Still, he put on an appreciative smile that was only half-forced.
"Thanks. It'll... definitely help me out."
