Day 44: Women's Showers (2nd Shift)
The sting of the water on Momo's wounds reminded her exactly where each and every burn was. Between that and the clear plastic wrapping the nurse placed around the long cut up her arm to her shoulder, she decided as little time in the actual spray would be wise. Sitting on a stool out of the direct stream, she went about scrubbing the grit and grime.
It almost felt weird to be alive with her throat intact, but Momo was not about to wish it was otherwise. In the past, maybe, but she remembered who she was and could not allow herself to become what she had been prior to her encounter with the undead knight. Wincing a bit with the pain of washing, she turned her thoughts to her upcoming meeting with Shikamaru. Or rather, she tried to. She still had to see Hitsugaya once she finished her shower.

"No, there isn't anyone else I care about."
Sheena stepped into the spray, dousing her hair, only to have found she'd forgotten to take it out of it's ponytail. With another grumble, the ninja pulled the bright red ribbon, matching the ones Raine had delivered - that was holding her hair back. She shook her hair out and draped the ribbon over a knob.
"I'm okay," she replied, without expressly stating what she was referring to. "At least I think so. Maybe."

The questions Sheena had been asking about romance could suddenly be viewed in a new light if she thought about it...
"Yukari stayed with you then, I take it." And the switching of ribbons... there were several possible explanations, including something happening to Sheena's usual and Yukari offering a replacement, but to Raine, it seemed more like... either an exchange, or symbolic possessiveness. The first question to come to mind in light of that was On the part of whom?

"She came by. We talked." Among other things.

"The hell are you talking about?" Sheena sputtered back, forcing the surprised look into a glare. "I was traumatized yesterday. Might as well have been torture."
In more ways than one. Stupid ranch.

Fortunately, Raine was reasonably certain that wasn't the case, but her protective streak still made her ask.

Sheena focused on washing herself, but her lips turned up just the slightest. "It was... nice. Having her there before..." we started making out. "...I fell asleep."
That was presumably what happened when the night ended. Right?

"That's good to hear. My night... was a little more exciting, unfortunately. Thankfully, it wasn't nearly as eventful as it could have been. Have you seen the board?" It might be a little hard to explain what she meant if Sheena didn't know.

She turned to get more soap and her eyes fell upon a familiar naked form. Yukari. The ninja's eyes traced over her form, a bit of a blush rising on her cheeks. Then she saw the tracks she'd carved down the youkai's back - quite visible on her pale skin. Her face flushed a little more, seeing what she'd done to Yukari.
"What happened?" Sheena managed to ask to keep Raine from wondering why the ninja wasn't responding. She did not want Raine catching sight of Yukari's back. At all. Thankfully, the youkai was on the other side of Raine, so the half-elf would not see her when she looked at Sheena.
The ninja was fascinated by those marks, her eyes lingering on them for far too long as she bit her bottom lip. She tore her eyes away before the youkai sensed she was being watched. At least that's what she believed. As she waited for Raine to clarify the stuff on the board, Sheena's movements took on a different feel. She seemed to take her time lathering her upper body, slowly running her hands down over her breasts and down her sides.
No, she wasn't doing it on purpose. Yet.

Fortunately for Sheena, she was distracted enough by the questions that topic brought up to overlook Yukari. For the moment.

She was officially thankful to the youkai for... distracting her. Speaking of the youkai, the ninja stole another look Yukari's way as Sheena resumed washing herself.
no subject
The whole event worried her; what had been the point of it? And worse, after that, what else could they expect to be put through?
no subject
This time when the ninja glanced over at the youkai, she met a pair of violet eyes. Sheena flushed and quickly looked away, choosing to move completely under the spray so her hair hung thick across her face. It still gave her just enough sight to see Yukari. Subtely watching her.
And now who's being the pervert, you stupid ninja? You shouldn't be... And yet, she didn't stop.

Once she'd rinsed out her hair, she slicked it back--she couldn't do much else with it at the moment, and she liked being able to see--and blinked at Sheena. Why was the ninja's body language suddenly indicating shame? "Is something wrong?"
no subject
"Uh... no."
Turning a bit away from Raine, Sheena tilted her head back into the stream, bringing her hands up to smooth the hair out of her face. She arched her back just a bit and then stretched her arms up. For a short period of time, the exsphere set into the ninja's torso was visible. Not that Sheena noticed. She stole another quick glance at the youkai.
Oh yeah, Raine had been talking about the clinic. And the chapel. She should respond to that. "Why aren't you just setting up your own? It's been a while since there's been a central spot," Sheena said, clearly a little distracted even though she was trying to hide it as she got some shampoo and started on her hair.
no subject
She was also wondering about Sheena; what was distracting her all of a sudden? Though, admittedly, there didn't have to be any sort of trigger for the girl's mind to go wandering off. She wasn't quite as bad as Lloyd, but sometimes she got close.
no subject
On second thought... HELL NO.
"Then set up something temporary and let everyone know. By the way, you owe Forte a healing today," she added on, shooting Raine a glare since the half-elf had just admitted that she'd done nothing with her night and could have healed the poor robot last night.

If there was a lull in the usual... excitement for a few nights, and he still needed it, she might. But for now, he'd live.
no subject
She tore her angry eyes away from Raine to wash the suds from her hair. "He's a lot like me. I understand how he feels..."
no subject
She would have asked a question that pointedly turned the tables on Sheena, but she wasn't in the mood to get accused of being a heartless bitch.
no subject
If Sheena had any inclining that Raine had been contemplating asking the ninja certain questions, she gave no indication of it.
"If you see him and then decide not to, I'll let it go. I'll be pissed, but I'll let it go. Just make sure to tell him why if you choose not to."
no subject
It was stereotyping, yes, but she also figured that would be fairly typical for a teenage boy anyway. She especially didn't want to heal him only to see him hurt himself even worse.
no subject
The ninja shrugged. "Look, Raine, if you continue on with the 'what ifs' you might as well stop being a healer. You know you can't live like that."
no subject
Especially considering what she had to look forward to, it was going to be a long day... not that they ever weren't.
no subject
Silently, her eyes trailed down the youkai's body as the ninja tried to finish her own hair. She was distracted, so anything else Raine may have said to her went completely unheard. I wonder if Yukari chose that spot on purpose...
