Nightshift 43: M11-20 Hallway
Endrance was quiet as he gathered his things - flashlight, pipe, long chef's knife from the night before - and slipped out into the hallway. It felt a bit strange to be leaving without saying much to his roommate, but...what was there to say, really? He wasn't sure, and so saying nothing at all had probably been the best course of action.
As he closed the door behind him, he blinked. Had - had the walls just blinked for a moment? It reminded him of what had happened two nights ago, when the false-Kite had changed the entry room into Hulle Granz, and it put him on guard. Was he out again tonight, then?

Of course, as absorbed as he was in his newly-gotten novel, Kakashi hadn't missed the announcements. He had an important announcement to keep this night shit, and while IRIS 'spoke' nonsensically, he quickly changed into his night clothes. The few remaining scalpels Kakashi had were tucked away, along with the knife he'd found last night. And his book, of course. There was no forgetting the book.
Bidding Dias a good night--or at leas as good of one as any of them were likely to get--Kakashi took his flashlight and headed into the hall. It was still early, but for once, the jounin wasn't going to be late. He didn't know why Sasuke wanted to talk to him, but Kakashi didn't want to leave his team down a man for too long. It was possible that he could still catch up with them later on.
Then, he'd just need an excuse.
