Dayshift 22: Sun Room (Evening Shift)
It was probably a good thing Penelo listened to that weird silver haired man (she never really did get his name, did she?), because her short investigation of the Bulletin Board revealed that she wasn't alone after all. Larsa and Gabranth were here too, for whatever reason.
Penelo still couldn't quite wrap her mind around the concept that Gabranth was alive, when she had heard his dying words and had later attended his funeral back at Archades. Basch had taken his place since then, and it just boggled her. How could Gabranth have returned to life? There was no force in Ivalice that could do that.
Then again, it looked like she wasn't in Ivalice anymore.
Penelo sighed, seating herself at a table near the bulletin board as she waited for Larsa and Gabranth to arrive. Hopefully, Larsa would have some answers; she never doubted his ability to dig up information, no matter what the situation. Even so, what did they get themselves into?
"At least Vaan isn't here," Penelo reminded herself. She had gone from frantically searching for Vaan to praising the Gods that he hadn't been captured in this prison.

"They aren't bugs, Yuffie. Not really. They're all different...aspects of Sephiroth. They showed up only a few days ago for me - the three of them; Loz, Yazoo, and Kadaj. Two years after meteor, this disease was spread called Geostigma. There was no cure - it was because of Jenova's presence in the Lifestream that it was spread."
She paused for a second, because it was still very weird, even to her.
"All three of them were looking for their 'Mother', Jenova, to complete their reunion. Their leader, Kadaj, managed to transform himself into Sephiroth - he's the only one who was able to do it. But Cloud managed to defeat him again." she shrugged a bit and grinned. "Good guys win, bad guys lose. Aerith...well, I still don't know how exactly she did it, but she managed to influence the lifestream and use her healing powers. Because of her, there's a cure for Geostigma."
She leaned back a bit. "As for what we were all doing, hm. We all kind of went out separate ways except for Barret, Cloud and I. We lived in the city of Edge for a while - I reopened 7th Heaven and looked after Marlene and Denzel, and Cloud...he's a delivery boy."
Tifa didn't want to think about Cloud too much at the moment. Instead, she couldn't help but tease Cid just a bit. "You know, Cid, you have a new ship. It's named after someone very special in your life..." a mischievous grin was forming.

As Tifa explained the going-ons of the future, Yuffie listened quietly for a change. She didn't really have anything to add, and she'd already teased Tifa once today about her and Cloud.
Cid, on the other hand... Yuffie began to mirror the grin Tifa was showing. "Ooh, ooh, who is it? Tell us!" she demanded eagerly.

Cid blinked as he saw Tifa's mischievous smile and Yuffie found no qualms with jumping right in. Shit, maybe the pilot had gotten more than he'd bargained for.
"Uh." He said dumbly, wondering if maybe he'd picked up some pretty blonde in a bar sometime in this weirdass future. (Although he knew the damages that his baby had sustained after he'd thrown the emergency switch would be near-impossible to rebuild from, he felt more than crestfallen that he really had gone out and made a new one.)
"...The Highwind II...?" He offered.

Vincent faltered, tried to speak, and faltered again before finally, "...What?"
This had to be the stupidest thing he'd ever heard. Geostigma? Aerith? Perhaps Tifa didn't know the whole story, because it made no sense.
Then Cid spoke and Vincent just smirked.

Heaven knows how he got it.
She gave a similar smirk to Cid and shook her head. "Nooo~..." she tilted her head and placed her hand under her chin in mock thought. "Oh, but if I butt in now, who knows what he'll say later..."
Revenge was kind of sweet. She hadn't forgotten the embarrassment she suffered after the Highwind.
"Oh, and she's such a sweet woman, always making you tea..." She wondered how much teasing her friend would take. The grin was impossible to hide.

What did catch her interest was Tifa's teasing answer. Some sweet woman, making tea?... Probably someone Cid already knew... Yuffie's eyes widened. "Oh! Oh! I know! It's um, um... That woman... Oh drat, I can't remember her name." Yuffie frowned momentarily, rather annoyed at her memory, but she got over it quickly and giggled. "Anyway! You named your ship after her? Oooooo~!"

Cid wasn't stupid enough to not know who Tifa was referring to, though he certainly looked that way as he stared back at her dumbly. Okay, sure, he'd been a royal asshole to Shera all these years and the events of the past month had finally shown him that his debt to her was a great one, (and didn't involve cussing her out every two seconds), but name his fucking new baby after her?
...Okay, he guessed he owed her that much. But to do it for her out of love instead of gut-wrenching guilt?
And then, things clicked.
Cid gave a smirk and crossed his arms, shaking his head at Tifa.
"You women... always reading into shit." He threw his legs up onto the coffee table between them, crossing his feet over each other. "Just 'cause I named it after her doesn't mean we're romantically involved or nothin'."
He shrugged with nonchalance.
"I was a son of a bitch and I know it, so I owe her big time. That's all."
